COUNTY DUTY:
It was hard luck to Caolan Mac Cathmhaoil and the Waterford Under 20 Football team that were narrowly defeated by Limerick by two points in this year’s Munster Football Championship in Dungarvan GAA grounds last Saturday afternoon. The team are off to Clonmel this coming Saturday, March 22nd to play Tipperary with a 2pm throw-in.
Congratulations to Sinead Daly who has been chosen to represent the Waterford Primary Games Camogie panel of 2025, where their opening game will be in Pairc Uí Chaoimh on May 25th. No doubt a busy year lies ahead for Sinead, as she is also involved with the Waterford U14 Camogie panel too.
MINOR HURLING LEAGUE:
The Minor Hurling league groups were decided last week, and Ferrybank/St. Saviours will play in Group B of this year's competition along with Clonea, Passage, Erin’s Own, and St. Patricks. The combined side’s opening game is scheduled to take place on Thursday, May 8th away to Clonea at 7pm.
UNDER 13 FOOTBALL:
Our Under 13 Footballers are scheduled to be in action this coming Sunday, March 23rd with a trip to play Tramore at 11am.
UNDER 11 & 12 HURLING & FOOTBALL:
Training for the Under 11 and 12 hurlers and footballers continues Sunday mornings from 11:30am to 12:30pm. Boys born in 2014/15 are most welcome to come down and get involved. If anyone needs any further information, please contact 089-2275149.
UNDER 12 CAMOGIE:
Our U12 Camogie side played their opening game of the year, where they welcomed Roanmore over for a challenge game last Saturday. On a nice morning for the game, both sides will have appreciated the game, as it will have blown off a few cob-webs, and no doubt, the teams will come on in leaps and bounds as the season moves on. Well done to both teams for a good sporting contest.
CLOTHING COLLECTION:
The clothing collection is now up and running for the year ahead, and if you have any items available, you can drop them down to the GAA grounds on Saturday and Sunday morning from 10am to 12 noon. Items of clothes, curtains, paired shoes, are welcomed, but once again, we will ask NOT to send down any PILLOWS OR DUVETS please.
WIN A HOUSE IN WATERFORD:
The Waterford GAA supporters club is thrilled to announce the launch of ‘Win a House in Waterford’ fundraiser. This exciting initiative is designed to support vital areas of Waterford GAA, including youth development and infrastructure projects like the enhancement of Walsh Park.
Tickets cost €100 each, and are available from any committee member. 30% of each ticket sold goes directly back to supporting Ferrybank GAA club. The grand prize is a stunning new home built by Frisby homes, located in the highly sought-after Brookfield estate in Kilbarry, Waterford.
Alternatively, a cash prize of €335k is also available, plus many more special draws which will take place throughout. The main draw is scheduled to take place on May 6th, 2025.
