Due to the inclement weather conditions last Sunday, the quarter-final match against Fenor was postponed. Obviously, with time constraints in running off this competition, the match will now take place on Tuesday, October 1st St. Molleran’s GAA grounds, Carrickbeg at 7:45pm. U11 HURLING:

Our U11 hurlers got their City League off to a winning start against Tramore in Ferrybank on Tuesday. It was a keenly contested affair and the team did very well taking some great scores along the way. Game two was due to be Sunday morning but was postponed due to the weather warning. Next week, the team are due to have games against Ballyduff Lower (Tuesday, away) and De La Salle (Sunday, away)

WELL!KIDS:

Our Well!Kids group travelled to Roanmore on Saturday morning where the children teamed up with players from Roanmore and St. Saviours for the usual range of Well!Kids fun activities, followed by a match with Roanmore. This was the first game for Ferrybank for these boys and girls aged 3-6, and they all did fantastically well with some great goals scored and plenty of smiles all round.

Many thanks to Roanmore for hosting a wonderful morning. Well!Kids continues for the next few weekends before the winter break, new members of course are always welcome

UNDER 15 CAMOGIE:

Well done to the U15 Camogie side on a great win over a gallant An Rinn side last Thursday night. Played in very wet conditions and fading light, credit to both sides, as they served up an excellent game for all the supporters there on the night. Next up for the team is a trip to play Gaultier on Sunday, October 6th.

UNDER 8 CAMOGIE:

Our U8 Camogie side welcomed near neighbours Kilmacow over last Saturday morning for a challenge game. Three teams lined out on the day, and in good weather conditions, both sides left no stone unturned displaying some lovely skills for all the parents to see on the day. Well done to everyone on the day, thanks to Kilmacow for coming over and playing in a good sporting manner.

SPORTS CAPITAL GRANT:

Great news last received by the club last Wednesday, that Ferrybank GAA Club received €92k in the latest round of Sports Capital funding, which will now go towards the next phase of the Community & Clubhouse development. A special word of thanks to the Development Committee who have worked tirelessly in securing this grant, and to the Team 100 members. It’s another step in the right direction.
