ABP sponsored Ferrybank GAA Weekly Notes

ALL-COUNTY HURLING LEAGUE:

The Senior hurlers play their third game in this year’s All-County Hurling League with a home game against Dungarvan this coming Saturday, May 11th at 6pm. Another good test awaits the team, and once again, all support will be appreciated on the night.

MINOR HURLING:

The combined Ferrybank / St. Saviour’s team will play Erin’s Own this coming Thursday, May 9th in Poleberry with a 7pm throw-in, and all support will be appreciated.

UNDER 15 FOOTBALL:

The combined Ferrybank / Erin’s Own side will play St. Patrick’s this evening, Monday, May 6th at 6:30pm in Poleberry.

Last Monday, the team made the spin to play Ballyduff Upper, and came away with a great win. With only a point separating the sides in the group, this will be a stiff test for the team.

UNDER 13 FOOTBALL:

Our U13 Footballers make the spin this Monday afternoon with a trip to Ballinameela to play St. Olivers’. Best of luck to all concerned.

UNDER 8/10 CAMOGIE:

Our U8/10 Camogie side made the trip to Gailtír last Saturday morning to participate in a blitz which also included St. Anne’s and De La Salle. In both age groups, two teams were fielded by Ferrybank, and this is a testament of the popularity of Camogie, and also credit to all the coaches who have left no stone unturned in getting some many girls involved, by showing the skills and drills at training sessions.

On the field itself, the girls acquitted themselves superbly, by competing in each game, which no doubt pleased the coaching team. Thanks to all the parents for bringing the girls to the venue and supporting the team throughout. Birthday wishes to Claire and Daisy, on the day who along with Frankie were making their debut in their first blitz, and were superb on the day.

Also well done to Allanah for winning the Ferrybank Player of the Tournament on the U10 white team. It’s back to the training field this coming Thursday at 6pm and Saturday morning at 11am, where as usual, new members are most welcome to come down and get involved.

WELL!KIDS PROGRAMME:

The Well!Kids programme continues this coming Saturday, May 11th from 10am to 11am. This is open to boys and girls, aged between 4-7. It is free to attend, and equipment can be provided, if needed. The emphasis is on fun and learning our game in a safe, but fun environment.

COUNTY DUTY:

Well done to Iona Heffernan and the Waterford Senior Camogie team that recorded a thrilling win over Tipperary last Saturday in Golden, and qualified for the Munster Hurling final, where they play Cork in Thurles on Sunday, May 19th. Well done to Ciara Haley also, who represented the Waterford U15 Camogie side that played in Clare last Saturday, while it was hard luck to Ruaidhri McGarrity and the Waterford U20 hurling team that were defeated in Clare last Saturday afternoon.

CLOTHING COLLECTION:

The clothing collection is back up and running for the year ahead, and no doubt many of us will be doing the usual clear out.

If you have any of the following items, drop them down to the GAA grounds;

- Clothes

- Paired Shoes

- Belts

Please do NOT send down any DUVETS OR PILLOWS.

Bags can be left in the club's grounds on a weeknight, or between 10am and 1pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
