ABP sponsored Ferrybank GAA Weekly Notes

ALL-COUNTY HURLING LEAGUE:

Ferrybank hurlers make their Division 2 League debut this coming Saturday, April 6th where Fourmilewater come to the GAA grounds for a 4pm throw-in. No doubt, exciting times ahead for the hurlers, where they play a side with huge senior hurling experience, so a good test awaits. Please come along and support the team.

 

UNDER 15 FOOTBALL:

Hard luck to the combined Ferrybank / Erin’s Own U15 football team who lost out by a point to Ballinacourty in their first league game on Easter Monday in Poleberry.

 

UNDER 13 FOOTBALL:

Our U13 footballers take on Gaultier this coming Wednesday, April 3rd at 6:30pm in Ferrybank.

 

COUNTY DUTY:

Hard luck to Iona Heffernan and the Waterford Senior Camogie side that were narrowly defeated by Kilkenny in the SETU Arena last Saturday afternoon, while best of luck to Ruadhri McGarrity and the Waterford U20 hurling team that play Cork in the Munster Championship this coming Friday, April 5th in Fraher Field at 7pm.

 

MINOR HURLING:

The 2024 Minor Hurling Championship will commence on Wednesday, July 3rd, with the combined Ferrybank / St. Saviour’s side placed in Division 2 along with Lismore, Clonea, Erin’s Own, St. Mary’s, Passage, Tramore, and St. Patrick’s.

 

CLOTHING COLLECTION:

The annual clothing collection is back up and running for the year ahead, and no doubt many of us will be doing the usual clear out.

If you have any of the following items, drop them down to the GAA grounds;

- Clothes

- Paired Shoes

- Belts

Please do NOT send down any DUVETS OR PILLOWS.

Bags can be left at the entrance to the club's grounds on a weeknight, or between 10am and 1pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

 

UNDER 9 HURLING:

Training continues for the U9 side on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:15pm to 7pm. New members are welcome to come down and get involved, full training is provided by the coaches on the night.

 

UNDER 7 & UNDER 8 HURLING:

Training continues on Wednesday and Fridays from 6:15pm to 7pm for the U7 and U8 teams. New members are welcome to come down and give it a go, full training is provided by the coaches on the night.

 

UNDER 5 & UNDER 6 HURLING:

The U5 and U6 players train on a Friday night from 6:15pm to 7pm, new members are welcome to come along, and get involved, where a warm welcome awaits. If you would like your child to get involved, please contact Damien 087-9947288, Sheamus 086-8797649. Barry 087-6510913, and they will help in any way they can.

 

CAMOGIE:

Last Thursday night at the Mandarin Palace saw the victorious U13 team receive their County medals from Club and County player Iona Heffernan. A great night was had by all, and thanks to Peadar’s Summer Camp for sponsoring the night, and thanks to Iona and Waterford Camogie for their help and assistance, and to Coaches, Derek, Roisin, and Karen for overseeing the winning team, and ensuring everything went smoothly on the night.

Training continues for the U12/14 on Tuesday and Thursday evening from 6-7pm and Saturday morning from 10-11am. The Under 15/16 team trains on Tuesday from 7-7pm and Saturday from 12-1pm, and the Under 10/11 train on a Saturday from 11-12, where as usual, new members are welcome to come along and give it a go.
