GAA NOTES
CARRIGEEN TOURNAMENT UNDER 14 HURLING: Our under 14 hurlers bowed out of the Carrigeen tournament last night losing 8-5 to 5-4 against a very good Ballingarry side from Tipperary, in the division 2 semi-final. The first half was even enough with both teams exchanging scores, until Ballingarry got three goals in quick succession, without reply in the last few minutes of the first half, leaving the score 5-2 to 2-1. Ferrybank tried hard in the second half to get back into the game with David Atkins, Jono Brown, Issac Power, hitting the net, and getting Ferrybank within four points of Ballingarry. However the Tipp lads decided to move six players in front of the goal, and turned the game into a low scoring affair by packing up their defence, and leaving very little room for our forwards to score the goals, and readily closed out of the game. Disappointment for the lads but their is no shame in losing to a better team on the night. TEAM: Jack Wicks, Shane Meagher, Issac Power, Tiernan Morrissey, Alex Hughes, David English, Jono Brown, Darryl Griffin, David Atkins, Paul Carew, Alex Grant.
