Ferrybank / St. Saviours begin their championship quest this coming tonight (Monday, April 3rd) where they play Roanmore in Ballybeg at 6:30pm, where all support will be welcome on the night.

COUNTY HURLING LEAGUE:

Our Intermediate hurlers begin the All-County Hurling league with a trip to play An Rinn. The game is scheduled for this coming Saturday, April 8th at 4pm, but keep an eye on our social media page, just in case the match is switched to a different date and time.

COUNTY DUTY:

Best of luck to Iona Heffernan and the Waterford Senior Camogie team that will play Wexford in the final of the ‘Very League’ sponsored competition this coming Saturday. A big prize awaits the winners with promotion to the top tier of Camogie League for next season, and despite going unbeaten in the league campaign, the team will anxious to maintain their winning streak going. No venue or time has been confirmed so far.

Congratulations to Shane Oates who has been included in the Waterford Under 20 Football panel for the season ahead. Their opening game takes place on Monday, April 10th away to Limerick in Ballyagran at 2pm.

Also well done to Sean Adyemi, Conor Haley and Fionn McGarrity who have been included in the Waterford U16 Hurling panel for 2023. Congratulations also to Eve Hennessey, Ciara Haley and Lilly McGee who have been selected for the Waterford Under 14 Camogie development squad for the year ahead. Well done to all concerned.

DÉISE DRAW:

The 2023 Déise Draw will commence on Monday, May 22nd. Similar to last year, there will be six draws, with over twenty cash prizes up for grabs each night. The draw will remain at €90 (€15 per month), with the participating club retaining 70% of the funds they generate from sales.

This is the club’s biggest source of income each year, and we would ask everyone associated with the club to purchase a Déise Draw ticket.

CLOTHING COLLECTION:

The clothes collection has now resumed for the year ahead, with many people now beginning a spring clean. If you have any of the following items that you don’t require;

- Clothes

- Curtains

- Paired Shoes

- Belts

…you can drop them down to the club grounds on Saturday and Sunday morning from 10 am to 12 noon. Once again, we appeal to the public NOT TO SEND DOWN ANY PILLOWS OR DUVETS PLEASE.

TEAM 100:

With sporting activities resuming the club grounds, many people will have seen the progression of the new clubhouse development. This is the biggest capital development project in the history of Ferrybank GAA club. With the recent upsurge in the underage section, this development will benefit these juvenile members and indeed the wider community far into the future.

This project will deliver a new building, consisting of modern dressing rooms, and a community orientated multipurpose rooms for all.

Team 100 has delivered numerous projects for Ferrybank GAA club in the past, including our hurling alley, running track, ball stoppers, pitch drainage, car park tarmacking, and the initial enabling works for this new project. We would ask everyone associated with the club; parents, supporters and players to join Team 100, and contribute to the continued development of the club and community.

Joining Team 100 involves paying a €25 per month standing-order (€6.25 per week) to the club, which covers your full-membership for the year. This works out as the price of a few cups of coffee/tea a week.

Please talk to any member, mentor, trainer or e-mail ferrybankgaa@gmail.com for more details on how to join Team 100.
