ABP sponsored Ferrybank GAA Weekly Notes

All-STAR NOMINATION:

Congratulations to Iona Heffernan on her All-Star nomination, which was announced last week. Iona enjoyed a fantastic campaign with the Waterford Senior Camogie side during the summer, and her displays in the full-back position didn’t go unnoticed by the panel. Let’s hope she will be rewarded on November 26th when the All-Star winners are announced. Also, best of luck to her fellow County players Brianna, Orla, Lorrainne, Beth, Abby and Niamh who were also nominated.

JUNIOR FOOTBALL:

Our Junior Footballers are in semi-final action this coming Thursday evening, where they take on St. Mollerans in the Tony Kirwan Plant Hire Eastern Championship. The game throws-in at 8pm in Carrickbeg, and all support is welcome.

UNDER 14 HURLING:

Ferrybank/St. Saviours combined side were defeated by Clonea last Tuesday, meaning the team now moves into the Plate section, and they defeated St. Marys in Kilmacthomas yesterday (Monday) by the narrowest of margins and this puts the team through to the final next weekend

JUVENILE NEWS:

The U8 Camogie side are preparing for their upcoming blitz on October 22nd, and are training every Wednesday at 6pm and Saturday mornings at 10am, and, as usual, new members are most welcome to come along and get involved.

Training for U6 and U7s is also on Wednesdays at 6pm and on Saturdays at 10am. If you have any queries on getting your son or daughter involved, please contact Seamie 086 879 7649 or Damien 089 616 2411.

Well done to Saoirse (Under 7), Allanah (Under 8), and Rian (Under 7) who were the Players of the Week.

DÉISE DRAW:

We had no joy in the final Déise Draw of the year, which took place last Wednesday. Thanks to everyone who supported the six draws, which was greatly appreciated by the club.

CONDOLENCES:

Ferrybank GAA club would like to express its sympathies to the family of the late Tom Flynn who sadly passed away last Friday. Ar Dheis de go raibh an h-anam.

TEAM 100:

Ferrybank GAA club is embarking upon its biggest capital development project in its history. With the recent upsurge in underage numbers (particularly females), this development will benefit these juvenile members and indeed the wider Ferrybank community far into the future. This project will deliver a new building consisting of modern dressing rooms and a community-orientated multipurpose room for all.

Team 100 has delivered numerous projects for Ferrybank GAA club in the past, including our hurling alley, running track, ball stoppers, pitch drainage, car park tarmacking and the initial enabling works for this new project. To join Team 100, and contribute to the continued development of the club and community, please talk to any committee member, team mentor, or email ferrybankgaa@gmail.com for more details.
