INTERMEDIATE HURLING:
Our Intermediate hurlers made it two wins from two with a hard fought win over a good Modeligo side last Friday night on a scoreline of 1-18 to 0-18 in the All-County Hurling League.
The only goal of the game came in the opening 10 minutes from Shane Oates. There was very little to choose between the sides during this entertaining game. Points from Sam Lawless, MJ Sutton, Mark O’ Brien, Seamus Burtchaell, Shane Oates, Luke Flynn and Robbie Carew saw the team lead 1-11 to 0-09 at the break.
With both sides making a number of changes during the second-half, Ferrybank’s defence was very solid throughout, limiting the hosts to very few goal scoring chances, and scores from Robbie Carew, Mark O’ Brien and Cormac Heffernan ensured the side ran out winners.
Next up in the All-County Hurling League is a trip to Ballysaggart on Saturday, May 14th at 5pm.
UNDER 15 FOOTBALL:
No luck for the Ferrybank/St. Saviours team last Monday in Ballybeg, where they went down to league leaders St. Marys on a scoreline of 2-09 to 1-06.
The team also recorded a 0-06 to 1-03 draw with Roanmore on Easter Monday.
UNDER 13 FOOTBALL:
The combined Ferrybank/Sacred Heart side were well beaten by a more skilful Nire team last Monday in Poleberry. Let’s hope the team can get back to winning ways this coming Wednesday, April 20th, in Poleberry at 6:30pm where they play An Ghaeltacht.
UNDER 7 & 8 HURLING/CAMOGIE:
It was a big week for the U7 and U8 sides last Saturday morning, where the ‘Stars of the Week’ awards were given out. There was some tough decisions to be made by the mentors, with everyone giving it their best shot on the field. However, in the boys U7 grade, congratulations to Logan and Caelan who won there category. While in the girls U8 Camogie, Layla and Poppy came out on top.
Both boys and girls were presented with their trophies by Mark O' Brien. Well done to all.
