ABP sponsored Ferrybank GAA Weekly Notes

BENEFIT NIGHT:

Our benefit night which was scheduled to take place last November, has now been re-scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 5th at Kilcohan Park. With COVID-19 restrictions now lifted, the club has been given the green light to go ahead for the night out. Obviously, this is a vital fundraiser for the club, and we would ask everyone associated with the club to support this night out.

Tickets, which will cost €10, will go on sale shortly. All tickets sold by the club will see the money retained by us, which will go towards our day-to-day costs, and, more importantly, help us to restart projects we had hoped to do, until the dreaded pandemic arrived.

Also, nominations will also be issued shortly, and you can nominate a dog on the night, and if it wins, you take home €30. Nominations will also cost €10. So, pencil this date in your diary, in what is a great night out.

NURSERY TRAINING:

The underage nursery group are back in action for ages between 5-7, every Friday night from 6pm to 7pm in the Ball Alley. Another fantastic night saw over 30 boys and girls being put through their paces by Logan and Jamie, and each and every one of them put in a great effort. The children went through fun-filled exercises, and also learned the core skills which is tailored for all levels.

New members are most welcome to come along and attend, and more importantly enjoying the social skills. Well done to all the mentors for getting the new season off to a superb start.

COUNTY DUTY:

Well done to John (Doxer) Burns as head coach, and Iona Heffernan who were part of the Waterford Senior Camogie side that started their league campaign with a good win in Cusack Park over Westmeath last Saturday afternoon. Next up will be a home game against Kilkenny in three weeks’ time.

BEST WISHES:

Best of luck to Ballygunner Hurling Club in the All-Ireland Senior Club Hurling Championship final this coming Saturday against near-neighbours Ballyhale Shamrocks.
