BENEFIT NIGHT:
Our annual benefit night, which was scheduled to take place last November, has now been re-scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 5th at Kilcohan Park. With most COVID-19 restrictions now lifted, the club has now been given the green light for the event.
Obviously, this is a vital fundraiser for the club, and we would ask everyone to support this night out. Tickets, which cost €10, and can be obtained from Declan Howard 087 939 3818, Iona Heffernan 085 115 4205, Colm Molloy Butchers, and The Mandarin Bar & Restaurant. All tickets sold by the club will see the money retained by us, which will go towards our day-to-day costs, and more importantly, help us to re-start projects we had hoped to do until the pandemic arrived.
Also, you can nominate a dog on the night, and if your dog is successful in winning a race, you will win €30. Nominations will cost €10, and can be obtained from Robbie Carew 085 207 4288. So, pencil this date into the diary and we look forward to seeing everyone there.
FERRYBANK GAA DEVELOPMENT:
Last Friday saw the Sports Capital Grants being announced by the Government for clubs around the country. The club’s application was successful and an amount of €121,840 was allocated. This is a great boost to the club, and will go towards the development of a new club house, containing dressing rooms and a community facility.
A huge amount of effort has gone into securing this grant behind the scenes by a hard-working sub-committee over the last two years. This new development will not only improve the club’s facilities, but more importantly will benefit the local community as well.
CLUB NURSERY:
Another big turnout last Friday night for the Club Nursery group, which saw over 40 boys and girls, including six new beginners, enjoying and learning the skills of hurling. Plenty of thrills and spills on the night, and plenty of new stars are starting to emerge.
Thanks to Mark O' Brien for putting the group through their paces on the night, where everyone had a great fun filled evening. Again, new people aged between 4-7 years old are most welcome to come along and attend on a Friday night from 6pm to 7pm in the Ball Alley.
MOTHERS & OTHERS:
The Mothers & Others Football team will start back training this coming Wednesday, February 16th from 7:30pm - 8:30pm. As usual, new members are most welcome to come along and get involved.
FITZGIBBON CUP DUTY:
Hard luck to Neil O’ Sullivan and Ryan Tierney who played for Waterford I.T. in last week’s Fitzgibbon Cup quarter-final defeat to NUIG.
CLOTHING COLLECTION:
The clothing collection is continuing. If you have any of the following items, drop them down to the GAA grounds;
- Clothes
- Paired Shoes
- Belts
Please do NOT send down any DUVETS OR PILLOWS.
Bags can be left at the entrance to the club's grounds on a weeknight, or between 10 am and 11 am on Saturday mornings.
KELLOGG’S CÚL CAMP:
If you would like to get involved in coaching with the Kellogg’s Cúl Camps for the coming year, application forms can now be obtained by going to https://forms.office.com/r/WeMdC4HCXG. Applications can be made up until March 31st.
