UNDER 12 HURLING:
Our U12 hurlers made it three wins from three with a big win over a gallant St. Saviour’s last Tuesday night. Right from the start, the team hit the ground running, with good build-up play, resulting in some excellent goals during the game. Keep up the good work.
Next up is a trip to play Ballygunner on Saturday July 24th at 4:30pm.
UNDER 15 HURLING:
It was a busy couple of days for the U15 hurlers with two games in a number of days with contrasting results.
First up was a home game against Tramore last Wednesday night. Following a good tough game of hurling, the sea-siders emerged winners on a 2-09 to 1-07 scoreline.
Despite an early goal from Jay Bagge, Tramore quickly replied with a goal of their own, and tagged over a couple of points, before Conor Haley replied with a point. Tramore’s defence were proving hard to crack in the opening half, and they led 1-04 to 1-01 at the break.
Early points from Lochlann Flanagan and Jay Bagge reduced the gap, but Tramore kept the lads at bay with a couple of scores. Crucially, with just a point in the game, Tramore struck for a vital goal, despite the best effort from Kyle Daly, as Tramore ran out winners.
Last Sunday morning, the lads welcomed An Gaeltacht to the field, and ran out good winners. Early points from Lochlann Flanagan and a goal from Conor Haley had Ferrybank three points up at the water break. From there on, two quick goals from Conor Haley, and points from Jay Bagge ensured a 4-06 to 1-00 lead at the break.
Credit to An Gaeltacht as they battled away, but up front Ferrybank’s forwards were taking their scores with further goals from Jay Bagge (2), and points from Dean Clarke (2), Adam Aspel and Lochlann Flanagan ensured a comfortable win for the team.
The lads travel to play Fourmilewater this coming Wednesday July 7th at 7pm in Ballymacarby in their final game of the league campaign.
MINOR HURLING:
Ferrybank/St. Saviour’s are in Minor Hurling League action this coming Thursday July 8th with a trip to play Passage at 7:30pm.
INTERMEDIATE HURLING:
Our Intermediate hurlers make the trip to Knockanore this coming Saturday July 10th at 7pm to play Shamrocks in their third game in the All-County League.
Déise Draw:
The 2021 Déise Draw will commence in July and will run until December, with six draws taking place. Each draw will cost €15, and once again, similar to last year, there will be twenty cash prizes up for grabs, with the top prize €10,000. The first draw takes place on July 27th.
Again, we would appeal to everyone associated with the club to get involved and purchase a Déise Draw ticket for the year ahead, as 70% of the ticket sales are retained by the club, and this money goes towards the day-to-day running of the club.
