UNDER 13 HURLING:
Our Under 13 hurlers maintained their unbeaten record in this year’s championship with an excellent 4-13 to 4-07 win over a very good Ardmore team last Monday night. Despite winning by six points in the end, Ferrybank had to repel some late Ardmore attacks in order to claim the two points.
Leading by 2-08 to 2-02 at the break, thanks to goals from Evan Mullally and Luke O' Connor, Ferrybank made an excellent start to the second-half with a goal from Sam Hurley, and with points from Evan (2) and Finn Carter, it looked plain sailing from the lads. However, Ardmore kept battling away, and began to chip away with goals and points of their own. Nonetheless, the lads steadied the ship, and points from Jack W, Finn, and a late goal from Sam secured a great win.
A good all round display from the team, with Tommy in goal pulling off a couple of vital saves when needed.

UNDER 12 HURLING:
Another great effort for the Under 12 hurlers defeating De La Salle last Saturday afternoon on a scoreline of 8-07 to 4-02 to maintain their unbeaten run in the competition. Next up is this coming Tuesday, June 29th, away to St. Saviour’s at 6:30pm.
MINOR FOOTBALL:
Ferrybank/St. Saviour’s played their second game in the Minor Football League last Thursday night against a fancied Gaultier side. Following a close hard game, Gaultier emerged winners on a scoreline of 0-06 to 1-01.
The team survived a few close scares early in the opening half, keeping their goal in check, before Hayden Casey scored a fine point. Gaultier hit three unanswered points to lead 0-05 to 0-01 at the break. Another Gaultier point extended the lead, but as the game went on, the team got more and more into it, and got rewarded with an Izaak Richards goal to reduce the gap, and the lads had their chances to get more scores. However, the final pass let them down. Despite the defeat, it was a good effort from the players.
UNDER 15 HURLING:
Our Under 15 hurlers made it two from two with a 5-12 to 0-12 win over St. Oliver’s in Ballinameela last Wednesday night. Next up for the team is a home game this coming Wednesday, June 30th against Tramore at 7pm.
INTERMEDIATE HURLING:
Our Intermediate hurlers recorded a good win over Ardmore in the All-County Hurling League last Saturday night winning on a scoreline of 4-18 to 0-18.
There wasn’t a lot between the sides in the opening half, with the sides level on a number of occasions. Points from Mark O’ Brien, Neil O’ Sullivan, Robbie Carew and Cormac Heffernan contributed to the scoreboard. Just before half-time, Mark O’ Brien went on a solo run, and drilled the ball to the net to leave them 1-08 to 0-07 at the break.
Two goals in as many minutes swung the game in Ferrybank’s favour in the second-half with Darryl Griffin and Mark O’ Brien scoring. From there on, Ferrybank took control, and a fourth goal from Mark O’ Brien which completed his hatrick. Credit to Ardmore who kept battling away, but Ferrybank’s defence proved hard to pass, determined not to concede a goal. A good all round display from the side.
UNDER 8 CAMOGIE:
Our U8 Camogie team made the trip to Butlerstown last Saturday morning to play in their first blitz of the year. The girls were up against Butlerstown, Tramore 'A and Tramore 'B. For most of the girls, this was their first time donning the green jersey, and they did themselves proud, by working hard, and showing great skill and effort, throughout the three games.
Well done to all concerned on an enjoyable morning and thanks to all the coaches and mentors for their organisation on the day, and also to Butlerstown for hosting the event.
UNDER 14 CAMOGIE:
No joy for the U14 team last Tuesday night, as this young team travelled to play Brickeys Rangers, and put in a brave display. With very few up to the age, the girls battled all the way, and never gave up.
CAMOGIE SENIOR LEAGUE:
Our Intermediate Camogie had a fantastic win over a fancied St. Anne’s side in Dunhill last Saturday evening, winning on a scoreline of 5-06 to 2-12.
DÉISE DRAW:
The 2021 Déise Draw will commence in July and will run until December, with six draws taking place. Each draw will cost €15, and once again, similar to last year, there will be twenty cash prizes up for grabs, with the top prize €10,000.
Again, we would appeal to everyone associated with the club to get involved and purchase a Déise Draw ticket for the year ahead, as 70% of the ticket sales are retained by the club, and this money goes towards the day-to-day running of the club.
