ABP sponsored Ferrybank GAA Weekly Notes

UNDER 15 FOOTBALL:

Our U15 Footballers had a mixed set of results in the Déise in Dublin sponsored competition. Last Wednesday night, the team travelled to play St. Saviours and were defeated on a scoreline of 3-09 to 1-03. Last Saturday afternoon, Dungarvan were the visitors to Ferrybank, and after an entertaining game, Ferrybank edged a close game on a scoreline of 5-04 to 2-05. Next up for the team is a home game against Gaultier this coming Wednesday, September 30th at 6pm.

UNDER 13 FOOTBALLERS:

The U13 Footballers play away to Sacred Heart in Poleberry this evening (September 28th) at 6pm, and follow that game up with another away game to Roanmore on Sunday at 11:30am.

UNDER 12 FOOTBALL:

Our U12 Footballers edged an exciting game last Friday night against Ballyduff Lower last Friday, winning on a scoreline of 5-04 to 3-06. Plenty of great scores by both teams kept the game in the balance, but crucially, the lads got goals at the right time to run out winners. It will be a busy few days for the team with an away game this coming Wednesday, September 30th against St. Mollerans at 6pm, followed by a trip to Fews to play John Mitchells on Friday, October 2nd, also at 6pm.

PANEL: Daniel, Luke, Adam, Rian, Harry, Mark F, Jacob, Sam, Finn, Mark C, Gavin, Evan, Jack, Max.

UNDER 12 CAMOGIE:

Our U12 Camogie team qualified for the final with a thrilling one point win over a good Tallow side last Saturday evening. A last gasp point from Cliodhna McGarrity proved the difference, ensuring a great comeback, which seemed unlikely, as the Tallow girls were on top in the opening half, with Lily McGee in the goal working overtime, pulling off a number of crucial saves to keep them in the hunt.

Following a regrouping, the girls came out in the second-half, all guns blazing, and a goal from Niamh Boylan, followed by point from Sophie Keogh, brought the girls right back into the match. With Shayla and Sophiat excelling in midfield, and Aoife and Ciara dominating at defence, the team drove on, and finally Ferrybank drew level. With the game coming towards the end, Cliodhna held her nerve, and sent over the winning score from close range to send the girls into the final, and a trip to Carriganore to play Dungarvan next Saturday, October 3rd at 11am.

A super team effort all round, hard luck to Tallow who played their part in a great game, and well done to Amy, Julie and Iona for looking after the team during the year.

PANEL: Lily McGee, Tara Flynn, Lucy Jolly, Saorise Firth, Aoife Kelly, Ciara Haley, Niamh Boylan, Sophie Keogh, Amelia Hayden, Eve Hennessey, Sophiat Adenekan, Cliodhna McGarrity, Shayla Aylward.
