ABP sponsored Ferrybank GAA Weekly Notes

INTERMEDIATE HURLING:
Our Intermediate hurlers begin their Eastern Championship campaign this coming Saturday, April 6th at 2:30pm, where Butlerstown provide the opposition in Kill. The team have prepared well so far, playing some useful challenge games; let’s hope they can make a winning start. Please come along and support the team.

UNDER 11 HURLING:
The Waterford City League gets up and running this weekend, and our U11 hurlers are in action with an away game against Ballyduff Lower at 6:30pm on Friday, April 5th. Your support will be appreciated on the night.

MOTHERS & OTHERS:
The Ferrybank Mothers & Others Ladies Football team (for women over 25) have commenced training for the season. It takes place every Tuesday night in the Hurling alley from 7pm-8pm. New members are most welcome to come along and join in.

DÉISE DRAW:
The 2019 Déise Draw will start on Wednesday, April 24th. It will be the same format as last year, with six monthly draws at €15 per month, with first prize been €12,500; 2nd prize of €2,500, 3rd prize of €1,000; all the way down to prize number twenty (€150). Also, there will be special bonus draws of a Harvey Travel voucher and Super-Valu vouchers to be won.
This is the club’s main source of income, with 70% of the sale of the ticket been retained by the club, which goes towards paying for day-to-day operations. So we would encourage everyone to support the Déise Draw.

JUVENILE GAELIC GAMES ACADEMY:
The club’s Nursery Programme continues each and every Saturday morning from 10am to 11am in the GAA grounds for boys and girls aged between 5 and 6 years old. The nursery programme teaches children the basic movements and skills required to play Gaelic games including agility, balance, coordination, running, jumping, throwing, kicking, striking and catching. All equipment, hurleys and helmets will be supplied.

ANGELA BURNS MEMORIAL 10K FUN RUN/WALK:
The fifth Angela Burns Memorial 10K Fun Run/Walk will take place on Sunday, April 14th at 11am, starting from the GAA grounds.
Once again, this event has been kindly sponsored by Harvey Travel, and we would like to thank Sean Power and his staff for their kind and generous sponsorship.
Registration is currently open on www.totaltiming.ie, and its €15 for the runners (chipped) and €10 for the walkers. This event is open to everyone from marathon runners, joggers, walkers, pram pushers etc., and we would ask everyone to keep this date in your diary, and come along and enjoy this great day out.
