ABP sponsored Ferrybank GAA Weekly Notes


ANGELA BURNS MEMORIAL 10K FUN/RUN WALK:
The fifth Angela Burns Memorial 10K Fun Run/Walk will take place on Sunday, April 14th at 11am, starting from the GAA grounds.
Once again, this event has been kindly sponsored by Harvey Travel, and we would like to thank Sean Power and his staff for their kind and generous sponsorship.
Registration is currently open on www.totaltiming.ie, and its €15 for the runners (chipped) and €10 for the walkers. This event is open to everyone from marathon runners, joggers, walkers, pram pushers etc., and we would ask everyone to keep this date in your diary, and come along and enjoy this great day out.

UNDER 17 FOOTBALL:
Our U17 Footballers were defeated by St. Saviours last Thursday night in Carriganore by St. Saviours on a score line of 4-05 to 0-06. Saviours got the goals at key stages of the game, and while the lads fought to the end, it wasn’t to be, and therefore exit this year’s Championship.

EASTER FOOTBALL/HURLING CAMPS:
The Easter Football camp will take place on April 23rd and 24th in Kilrossanty GAA grounds. It is open to children born in 2005/06. The cost is €10 per person, where guest coaches and county players will be on hand to give plenty of tips and advice. To register, please log on to deiseogeastfootball.eventbrite.ie. While a Hurling camp take place frp, a[ri; 23rd to 25th in WIT Arena, for boys born in2007. JUVENILE GAELIC GAMES ACADEMY:
The club’s Nursery Programme continues each and every Saturday morning from 10am to 11am in the GAA grounds for boys and girls aged between 5 and 6 years old. The nursery programme teaches children the basic movements and skills required to play Gaelic games including agility, balance, coordination, running, jumping, throwing, kicking, striking and catching. All equipment, hurleys and helmets will be supplied.

COUNTY DUTY:
Well done to Mark O' Brien and the Waterford Senior hurling team that defeated Galway in the Allianz league semi-final at Nowlan Park last Sunday afternoon, and now go onto play Limerick this coming Sunday at Croke Park. Best of luck lads.

DÉISE DRAW:
The 2019 Déise Draw will start on Wednesday, April 24th. It will be the same format as last year, with six monthly draws at €15 per month, with first prize been €12,500; 2nd prize of €2,500, 3rd prize of €1,000; all the way down to prize number twenty (€150). Also, there will be special bonus draws of a Harvey Travel voucher and Super-Valu vouchers to be won.
This is the club’s main source of income, with 70% of the sale of the ticket been retained by the club, which goes towards paying for day-to-day operations. So we would encourage everyone to support the Déise Draw.

MOTHERS & OTHERS:
The Ferrybank Mothers & Others Ladies Football team (for women over 25) have commenced training for the season. It takes place every Tuesday night in the Hurling alley from 7pm-8pm. New members are most welcome to come along and join in.
