ABP sponsored Ferrybank GAA Weekly Notes

A.G.M.

We held our annual general meeting in the Parish Hall last Friday night. Comprehensive reports were given by both the Chairman and Secretary outlining the Club’s activities throughout the year.

Although we failed to win any silverware at adult level, it was completely the opposite at Juvenile level with the Under 11, 13, 14 and 16, all claiming trophies, and to top it off, they achieved the East Waterford Juvenile club of the year for 2018.

Thanks to all our sponsors throughout the year who without their support, we would find it difficult to provide the facilities we now offer, and to all the people who volunteered their time and contributed to the club.

The following people were elected on the night. Joint Presidents Fr. O' Shea, Essie Collins and Sean Burtchaell. Chairman Nicky Heffernan, Secretary Pat O' Meara, Assistant Secretary Dom O' Brien. Treasurer Declan O' Meara, PRO Declan Howard, Child Welfare Officer Tony Power, Health & Wellbeing Kate Gordon, Irish Officer Bill Hayes, Committee members Padraig Buggy, Robbie Carew, Jack Burtchaell, Damien Ahern, MJ Sutton.

COUNTY DUTY:

It’s been a busy couple of weeks for some of our players who are representing the County or their College. Congratulations to Iona Heffernan and Niamh Ahearne who represented the Waterford Senior Camogie team that defeated Wexford in their opening league game in Enniscorthy last Sunday afternoon. Iona and Roisin Oates are also on the W.I.T. Ashbourne Cup team, while Niamh is assisting U.C.C. in their quest for glory. Grainne Heffernan is assisting M.U.I. in the Purcell Cup. Also best of luck to Mark O' Brien and the Waterford Senior Hurling team who start their National League campaign this coming Sunday against Offaly in Thurles.
