ANGELA BURNS MEMORIAL
10K:
The 4th Annual Angela Burns Memorial 10k Fun Run/Walk will
take place from the Ferrybank GAA grounds on Sunday 22nd April at 11am. Once
again, this event has been kindly sponsored by Harvey Travel Gladstone St, and
Ferrybank GAA club are extremely grateful to Sean Power and his staff for their
kind sponsorship.
This event is open to everyone from Marathon runners,
joggers, walkers, pram-pushers etc, and we would encourage everyone and enjoy

with runners' entry costing €15 (chipped) and walkers only €10.
MINOR FOOTBALL:
Our Minor Footballers are back in action this morning
Tuesday night April 10th at 6:30pm with a home game against Mount Sion, and
your support will be welcomed on the night.
INTERMEDIATE HURLING:
Ferrybank’s opening game in this year’s Gerry Kennedy Crash
Repairs sponsored competition against St. Saviours was postponed last Saturday
afternoon due to an unplayable pitch. No date has been confirmed as to when
this game will be played.
MINOR HURLING:
Our Minor hurlers have been grouped with Erins Own, St.
Saviours, St. Mollerans, Stradbally and Ballygunner B in this year’s
Championship.
UNDER 16 FOOTBALL:
It’s another crucial game for the Under 16 Footballers with
a home game against Clashmore this coming Wednesday night April 11th at 7pm.
UNDER 12 HURLING:
Our Under 12's are in action this coming Friday April 13th
with a home game against Mount Sion at 6:30pm.
UNDER 10 HURLING:
Our Under 10 hurlers are in action this coming Saturday
April 14th at 11:30am with an away match against Butlerstown.
MEMBERSHIP:
With the playing season now up and running, its that time of
the year again, with membership now due for both Adults & Juveniles. We
would ask everyone to pay asap, Adults €70, Students, Unwaged, Associated
Members €30, and for the Juveniles, its €30 for the first child, and €10 for
each additional child.
OLD EQUIPMENT:
If you have any old hurleys, football boots, helmets,
Jerseys etc, which are too small, or you don’t need anymore, you can donate
them to the club, and we will redistribute these items to members for free.
Likewise, if any member needs boots, please let us know your size, and we
endeavour to facilitate you. Smaller hurleys (size 20-24) are the biggest item
in demand for our new members, but any items will be gratefully accepted. You
can hand any of the above items into the club.
FIRST AID SUPPLIES:
With the playing season now upon us, if any of your group
requires First Aid supplies, please contact Tony Power 086-4169215, and Tony
will look after you.
DÉISE DRAW:
The Déise Draw will start once again on May 30th, and will
run for 6 months. Each month there will be 22 cash prizes up for grabs, with
1st prize €12,500, 2nd prize €3,000, 3rd /4th prize €1,000, 5th-7th prize €500
and 8th-22nd €200.
This is the club’s main source of income, with 70% been
retained by the club, and we would ask everyone to support the Déise Draw.
Tickets will cost €15 per month, and will be on sale shortly.
