ABP sponsored Ferrybank GAA Weekly Notes


ANGELA BURNS MEMORIAL 10K:
The 4th Annual Angela Burns memorial 10k Fun Run/Walk will take place next Sunday April 22nd at 11am from the Ferrybank GAA grounds. Once again, this event has been kindly sponsored by Harvey Travel Waterford, and Ferrybank GAA club are extremely grateful to Sean Power and his staff.
This event is open to everyone from Runners, Joggers, Walkers, Pram-pushers etc, and we would encourage everyone to come along and enjoy this great day out. Entries are currently been taken on http://www.totaltiming.ie/event/angela-burns-memorial-10k-2018/, but will close at 11pm on Friday 21st April. Entries can then be taken on the morning from 9:30am in the GAA grounds, with runners costing €15 (chipped) and €10 for the walkers.

UNDER 11 HURLING:
It’s a busy week for the Under 11 hurlers where they play away to Roanmore tomorrow night, Monday, April 17th at 6:30pm, followed by a home game against St. Marys on Friday April 20th at 6:30pm.

UNDER 12 HURLING:
Our Under 12 hurlers recorded a fantastic victory over Mount Sion in the City League Division 1 last Friday night winning on a score-line of 1-07 to 2-03. The lads put in a great display throughout the game, and fully deserved the points.

UNDER 16 FOOTBALL:
Ferrybank’s Under 16 Footballers will play Clashmore/Kinsalebeg this coming Thursday night April 19th in Ferrybank at 7pm.

JUNIOR FOOTBALL:
Our Junior Footballers play Ballyduff Lower in their opening game in the John J Murphy sponsored Eastern Junior championship this coming Friday April 20th at 7pm.

MINOR FOOTBALL:
No Joy for Ferrybank’s Minors last Tuesday night, as they were defeated by Mount Sion on a score-line of 4-04 to 2-04.

CAMOGIE:
Our Intermediate side made the trip to play An Rinn in the Senior League last Friday night, and were defeated by the home team. No doubt, the team will have learned a lot from playing An Rinn who are competing in the Senior Camogie Championship.

COUNTY DUTY:
Congratulations to Helen Connolly who was part of the Waterford Under 16B Camogie team that defeated Cork on a scoreline of 0-9 to 0-07 after extra time last Sunday afternoon.

MEMBERSHIP:
With the playing season now upon us, it’s that time of the year again, with membership now due for both Adults and Juveniles. We would ask everyone to pay ASAP; Adults €70, Students/Unwaged and Associated Members €30. For the Juveniles, its €30 for the first child, and €10 for each additional child.

OLD EQUIPMENT:
If you have any old hurleys, football boots, helmets, Jerseys etc, which are too small, or you don’t need anymore, you can donate them to the club, and we will redistribute these items to members for free.
Likewise, if any member needs boots, please let us know our size, and we will endeavour to facilitate you. Smaller hurleys (size 20-24) are the biggest item in demand for our new members, but any items will be gratefully accepted. You can hand any of the above items into the club.

FIRST AID SUPPLIES:
With the playing season upon us, and if any of your group requires first aid supplies, please contact Tony Power on 086 416 9215, and Tony will look after you.

DÉISE DRAW:
The Déise Draw will start once again on May 30th, and will run for 6 months. Each month there will be 22 cash prizes up for grabs, with 1st prize €12,500, 2nd prize €3,000, 3rd /4th prize €1,000, 5th-7th prize €500 and 8th-22nd €200.
This is the club’s main source of income, with 70% been retained by the club, and we would ask everyone to support the Déise Draw. Tickets will cost €15 per month, and will be on sale shortly.

- Laptops *
* Mobile phones and laptops to be kept in a separate bag please.
