GAA NOTES

CAMOIGE: There will be a meeting in the Parish Hall Ferrybank on Thursday April 19th at 8pm for all parents who are interested in helping out with the Camoige Teams for the coming year. With a number of Camoige Teams involved, we are looking for volunteers to help out in any small way. Also if you have a friend or two who would like to get involved, please bring them along, they would be most welcome. We look forward in seening you their. Also Registrations for the coming season will also take place on the night.

MINOR FOOTBALL: Our Minor Footballers recorded an excellent victory tonight against St Saviours in their Minor Football clash in Ballybeg tonight on a scoreline of 4-9 to 1-9. MJ Sutton opened the scoring with a well taken point, but Saviours took the lead with two points on the trot. Davy Atkins replied with a well taken score, and the same person scored a well taken goal, following good build up play. Ferrybank contuined to play good Football and creating chances in which Davy, Keith Power, Robbie Carew scored good scores to keep them ahead. Just before Half time an excellent break from defence resulted in the ball been fed to Davy Atkins and he slotted the ball to the net. Keith Power got the third goal to leave Ferrybank 3-6 to -6pts lead at half time. Early point from Keith extended the lead, and moments later the visitors were awarded a penelty when Jeff Lawless was brought to the ground and Keith slotted the ball into the net for his second and Ferryabnks fourth. St Saviours came more into the game, as the lads began to fade and scored a goal in the meantime to reduce the gap. Some good goalkeeping from Kevin Fell, and dogged defending kept Saviours at bay. Two further points from Keith extended the lead and Robbie finished of the scoring with a final point. This was a good performance by the team, with all playing their part in the win. The lads are now in the semi finals where they will play Cois Bhride . Thanks to all who came along and supported the team. JUVENILE REGISTRATION: Dont Forget this Saturday April 14th, Juvenile Registration will take place from 11am to 1pm in the Gaa Grounds. So Parents, please come along and register your child for the season.

UNDER 16 FOOTBALL: Our under 16 Footballers will travel to Ardmore this Sunday April 15th to play the home side at 11:30am, so please come along and support the team.
