The Ferrybank Under 5 hurling team played a match against Passage East at Ferrybank Hurling Alley on Saturday 2nd October 2010.
Ferrybank U5 excelled themselves today. With the combination of the regular team plus the bonus of our new players, they proved themselves a team to be matched.
With Daniel Griffin in top form in goal, supported by defence comprising Killian Dunphy, Kyle Daly, the Carter brothers (Malachy & Joseph), Fionn McGarrity and Ryan Duggan not many a sliother got past them. Our midfield Markus Izotovs, Shane Purcell, Ross Burke-Derham, Adam Sinnot & Izaak Richards dominated the centre of the Alley and provided the forwards James Mackessy, Deacon Purcell, Adam Aspel, Caolan MacCathmhaoil and Michael McLawrence with ample opportunity to score.
The kids had a ball and will be talking about this day in school, so to all parents – please encourage your kids (from juniors infants) to participate regardless of their lack of hurling experience as the emphasis is placed on fun.
Once again thanks to all the parents and supporters. We were amazed at the volume of support which is vital. You made the kids day and they look forward to their next match.
