ABP sponsored Ferrybank GAA Weekly Notes

U15 HURLING:

The combined Ferrybank/Erin’s Own U15 hurling team lost their championship quarter-final to a strong Brickey Rangers side last week. The team will now play a Shield semi-final against Cappoquin/Tourin/Affane on Monday in Poleberry with a 7pm start time.

Best of luck to the team and management in this game and all support greatly appreciated on the night.

 

U13 HURLING:

There was heartache for U13 hurlers who lost out by a narrow two-point margin to Ballygunner in their opening City League game on Saturday evening. This was a great game with plenty of lovely scores.

Thanks to Ballygunner for hosting and best of luck to the team in the rest of the competition.

Team on the night was Oscar, Conor K, Ben, Jamie, Alex, Logan, Matthew, Darragh SW, Darragh K, Kane, Jaic Hayes, Jackson, Jack Hayes

The team play their second City League game this Sunday against Tramore in Ferrybank with an 11am start. Please come along and support the boys.

 

U12 FOOTBALL:

Unfortunately, the U12 Football team’s game versus Gaultier had to be postponed due to the bad weather on Friday. This game will be rescheduled. The team have a bye in the next round of the Football league and will return to hurling action on Friday week, May 2nd.

 

U11 HURLING & FOOTBALL:

Our U11 hurlers had their first Déise Óg game of the year last Tuesday in Tramore, recording a narrow win in difficult conditions. Well done to all. The team on the night was Jake, Reece, Harvey, Connor P, Sam, Cody, Oisin, David, Cian, Killian, Joey, Zac, Ben, Darragh M.

A busy week ahead for the team in both codes, with a home City League hurling match against Mount Sion on Tuesday, and a Déise Óg football blitz with St. Molleran’s and Erin’s Own on Thursday. The start time for both is 6:30pm in Ferrybank, and all support is greatly appreciated on the night.

 

WELL!KIDS:

Our popular Well!Kids program recommences this Saturday, April 26th from 10am-11am. This is suitable for boys and girls aged 4-6, and is an introduction to Gaelic Games in a safe environment with the emphasis on fun and enjoyment. Contact Kevin on 087 901 8467 for more details.

 

CAMOGIE:

The U14 Camogie side made the trip to Tallow last Tuesday and came away with a great win over a spirited Tallow side. The girls have now maintained their 100% record in the group.

The U12 side are in action this coming Thursday, April 24th with a home match against Mount Sion with a 6:30pm throw in, and all support will be appreciated on the night.

 

PEADAR'S SUMMER CAMP:

A date for the diary, as the popular Peadar's Summer Camp will take place on Monday, July 21st, running all the way to Friday, July 25th.

 

CLOTHING COLLECTION:

The Clothing collection is now up and running for the year ahead, and if you have any items available, you can drop them down to the GAA grounds on Weeknights from 6-8pm and Saturday and Sunday 10am to 12noon. Items of Clothes, Curtains, Shoes are welcomed, bit once again, we kindly ask, NO PILLOWS OR DUVETS.

 

WIN A HOUSE IN WATERFORD:

The Waterford GAA supporters club is thrilled to announce the launch of ‘Win a House in Waterford’ fundraiser. This exciting initiative is designed to support vital areas of Waterford GAA, including youth development and infrastructure projects like the enhancement of Walsh Park.

Tickets cost €100 each, and are available from any committee member. 30% of each ticket sold goes directly back to supporting Ferrybank GAA club. The grand prize is a stunning new home built by Frisby homes, located in the highly sought-after Brookfield estate in Kilbarry, Waterford.

Alternatively, a cash prize of €335k is also available, plus many more special draws which will take place throughout. The main draw is scheduled to take place in July.
