ABP aponsored Ferrybank GAA Weekly Notes

BENEFIT NIGHT:

Ferrybank GAA club held its annual benefit last Saturday in Kilcohan Park, where a large number from the village were in attendance. A great night was had by all, with plenty of spills and thrills on the racing front itself.

Feature of the night was the presentation of medals to the Ferrybank Minors Hurlers who were crowned Division 2 County Champions, following a fantastic campaign. Also on the night, a number of prizes were given out, in which the main prize of a weekend away in the four-star Castlerosse Hotel Killarney, which was kindly sponsored by Sean Power and his staff, Harvey Travel Gladstone St, was won by T. Stanuyk. Also, other prize winners were Nicky Lawless, Maria O' Brien, Louise Kennedy, Geraldine Smith, John Swift, and Sean Flynn; so well done to all concerned.

Once again, a huge thanks to the organising committee who left no stone unturned, ensuring everything went smoothly. Thanks to all our sponsors, to all the locations who sold tickets on her behalf, to the people who purchased tickets and dog nominations, and to the staff at Kilcohan Park for all their help and assistance in preparing the night for us.

UNDER 7 BOYS:

The U7s are in football action this coming Saturday, playing in the Ballygunner blitz, and best of luck to all concerned. In the meantime, training continues for U7/8 (Born 2016/17) on Wednesday and Friday at 6:15pm, while the Under 6 team, training on Friday at 6:15pm. As usual, new members are most welcome to come down and give it a go.

UNDER 9 BOYS:

COUNTY DUTY:

Congratulations to Ruadhri McGarrity who has been selected on the Waterford U20 Hurling Panel for this year’s Championship. Also, well done to Iona Heffernan and the Waterford Senior Camogie side that recorded a good win over Clare in Fraher Field last Saturday afternoon in the ‘Very League’ National League.
