ABP sponsored Ferrybank GAA Weekly Notes

FERRYBANK GAA AGM:

Ferrybank GAA club will hold its AGM this coming Tuesday, January 30th at 7pm in the Boys’ National School. Following a successful year both on and off the field, another busy year awaits in 2024. All members are welcome to come along and attend.

BENEFIT NIGHT:

Ferrybank GAA club will hold its annual benefit night on Saturday, March 9th in Kilcohan Park. Over the last number of years, this has become the club’s biggest fundraiser. Once again, we hope everyone from the club and parish will get behind and support this night out.

Following a successful 2023 season for the club, both on and off the field, which saw the Ferrybank Intermediate hurlers being crowned Waterford Premier Intermediate Hurling Champions, and now it’s a return to the Senior ranks for 2024 following an absence of almost 40 years, and it’s a significant testament to the hard working people involved in the club. We also saw our Minors being crowned Division 2 County Champions in 2023. Another major milestone was the completion of Phase 2 of the clubhouse, and moving to Phase 3 (fit out) in 2024 indicates the club’s commitment to providing top quality facilities for its players and members.

Tickets for the benefit night will cost €10, and will go on sale shortly, where we would encourage everyone to purchase a ticket. All tickets directly purchased from the club will see the money being retained by the club itself.

There will also be a number of prize draws on the night, where the main prize will once again has been kindly sponsored by Sean Power and his staff at Harvey Travel, Gladstone St., which is a weekend  away in the four star Castlerosse Hotel, Killarney, including breakfast and an evening meal.

There will also be an opportunity to sponsor a dog, with the popular dog nominations also making an appearance. So keep this date free in your diary.

UNDER 6, 7, 8, 9 HURLING:

Our U6, U7, U8 and U9 boys’ started back training during the week. On a nippy night for training, it was fantastic to see such a great turnout at all three sessions, with all the kids putting in a great effort.
