ABP sponsored Ferrybank GAA Weekly Notes

RETURN TO PLAY:

Today sees the opening of the club’s grounds with the return to action for under-18s to resume non-contact training in pods. All new players (parents or guardians in case of underage players) must complete the mandatory Gaelic Games online education module which is available on the GAA eLearning portal, and record a certification of completion for the COVID-19 supervisor prior to any resumption of training and /or playing activities. All players are to sign in prior to training. No training gear is to be left in changing rooms. Bring your own water, with your name on it. There will also be a COVID-19 officer present at all times. We would ask everyone to comply with these regulations.

TRAINING TIMES:

This week’s training times in the field are as follows;

  • Tuesday April 27th – Under 15 @ 5:30pm
  • Wednesday April 28th – Under 13 @ 6:30pm
  • Thursday April 29th – Under 15 @ 4:30pm

On Saturday May 1st, the Under 6 nursery groups starts at 10am, while Under 8/10s commences at 11am. On the days, all parents will be requested to sign in each child prior to training, and also ensure that they have their hurley, helmet and water bottle.

CAMOGIE CLUB:

Just a couple of more days remain if you would like to enter the chance to win a pair of Apple Air Pods for just €5. All proceeds raised will go towards the development of the Camogie Club, both Juvenile and Adult level. To enter this raffle, just go to the Go-FundMe page on the club's Facebook page; just leave your name when donating. If for example, you donate €10, you will be entered in the draw twice and so on. It’s a great prize to win, all for a worthy cause.

LAST MAN STANDING:

Congratulations to Nicky Lawless who was crowned the winner of the Last Man Standing competition which was running over the last number of weeks. Nicky’s selection, Man City, did the business last Wednesday night, and scooped the first prize.

A huge thanks to all who took part in the competition, and special word of thanks to Tommy Lane who organised the event, and raised vital funds towards the purchase of new goal posts for the main field, which will be on display in the very near future.

DÉISE DRAW:

The 2021 Déise Draw is scheduled to return in July. Similar to last year, there will be six draws running all the way through to December. More details will follow as they soon come to hand.

ANGELA BURNS MEMORIAL 10K:

The Angela Burns Memorial 10k will go virtual this year, and the scheduled dates will be Friday June 4th to Monday June 7th. All going well, further details will be displayed in next week’s notes. So keep these dates in your diary.
