UNDER 13 FOOTBALL: Pride of place this week goes to the Ferrybank under 13 Footballers who recorded a fantastic win over a sporting Kilrossanty side in the Division 3 final at Walsh Park last Saturday afternoon. Having been defeated in the under 14 final the previous weekend, along with a Feile final, and a schools final, Ferrybank showed a lot of character in winning this game. Playing against the wind in the opening half, Ferrybank opened the scoring with a Luke Butler free, but Kilrossanty took over and scored 1-3 without reply to stamp their authority, but Nathan Carter went on a great run and his shot ended up in the Kilrossanty net for a great goal to reduce the gap. Just before half time, Kilrossanty got there fourth point to extend there lead to 1-4 to 1-1 at the break. With the breeze at the their backs, Ferrybank went about their business, and Ryan Tierney scored two points to reduce the gap to the miminum. Another fine point arrived through Paul Odana to level it up, and moments later Jack Keogh scored a goal to put Ferrybank ahead. With the game in the melting pot, Ferrybank had chances to kill off the game, but didnt take them, while the Ferrybank defence survived a few anxious moments, as Killrossanty through everything at them. In the end, Ferrybank held out for a great win. Captain Ben Fitzpatrick collected the cup on behalf of the team, and in doing so, thats the third trophy this team has collected this season. TEAM: Maciek Tomashuk, John Collins, Ben Fitzpatrick, Reece Phelan, Charlie Atkins, Eimhin Burns, Luke Butler, Ryan Tierney, Nickoli Berdenski, Paul Odana, Jack Haley, Jack Keogh, Nathan Carter, Eddie Daly, Cody Griffin, Charlie mcLaughlin, Pawel Tomashuk, Shane Oates, Aaron Ahearne.
