GOLF CLASSIC: The Annual Gerry Ryan Memorial Golf Classic will take place on Friday 23rd May at the Waterford Golf Club. Teams of three cost €40 each (meal after the round included), with Students and Unwaged can play before 11am for a very reasonable €10. Tee of times can be booked, by contacting Andy Ryan on 086-3938993. So form a team, book your tee off time, and enjoy the day. We would ask all members, supporters of the Club to take part on the day.
FERRYBANK 10K FUN/RUN: The first ever Ferrybank 10k fun run took play today in the Village Gaa grounds. With a lovely morning for the run, over 170 took part in all categories from Runners, Walkers, Joggers, Pram-Pushers, Dog Lovers etc. First past the post in the Mens Section was Conor Rochford, 2nd was Owen Whelan, and 3rd was Brendan Aspel, while in the Womens Section First home was Elaine O' Donovan, 2nd was Katherine Grant, 3rd Bernadette Mitchell, well done to all. This race wouldnt have taken off without the following people who contributed in making it a success. Many thanks to Ger Condon for spinning the discs before the race, making sure people were in good form for it, to the Ladies who provided Tea, Sandwiches, Cakes, Buns, etc for all the competitors, the Gardai who ensured it was safely started for the competitors, the First Aiders, the Stewards, the Water Station Crew,the Sponsors, to the People who brought along food for the day, the Registration People, the Orgainising Committee who left no stone unturned for the day, and to all the people who turned up making it a memorable day. A huge thanks to all, and hopefully i didnt leave anyone out, once again thanks a million, and role on 2015.
