GAA NOTES

UNDER 14 HURLING: Our under 14 hurlers qualified for the final of the Bord Na Og Eastern Division 2 championship after a great semi final win over Clonea last night on a score line of 5-9 to 5-4. David Atkins, Shane Meagher, Jono Brown, Darryl Griffin were outstanding throughout the game. Also their was good performances from David English in goal, Jack Wicks, Tiernan Morrissey, Alex Grant, Paul Carew, Kyle Malonein in defence. Our forwards also contributed with Andrew Whelan, John Hickey, Alex Hughes, all scoring fine goals, with good support from Cameron Wells, Issac Power doing trojan work, setting up the scores in the full forward line. We now play the winners of the Sacred Heart/Dunhill/Fenor (playing tomorrow Monday), with the final scheduled for Saturday May 7th in Walsh Park at 1:30pm. Thanks to all who came and supported the team.

FIXTURES: Our under 14 hurlers are back in action this Wednesday night May 4th where they play Clonea this time in the County Championship in Clonea at 7:30pm. No doubt another close game is on the cards, judging on the last game played between the two sides. Your support would be most welcomed on the night.

DEISE DRAW: Congratulations to Gerry Murphy of Grannagh Kilmacow who won second prize of 2,000 euro in Friday nights Deise Draw which was held in Clashmore. Gerrys two sons James and Greg play hurling and Football for the club. Many thanks to all who purchased tickets for the draw, and remember its not to late to still get involved as tickets are available for the May draw at 10 euro's each from any committee member
