GAA NOTES
INTERMEDIATE HURLING: Our Intermediate Hurlers played St Saviours in Ferrybank on Saturday evening, and following a good game of hurling the game finished all square of 1-9 to -12pts. This was Ferrybank final warm up game before they play Ballyduff next weekend, and no doubt the selectors will have been heartened with the teams attitude and performance. This game was played at championship pace with both teams giving it their all. At Half time Ferrybank led by -8pts to -7pts, with very little between the sides, with some good scores from James Murphy, Sam Lawless, Chris Hoban. In the second half, scores were hard to come by, with both sides defending and competing well for the ball. However a soft goal for Saviours put them back into the lead, but credit to the lads as they fought back and scores from Chris Hoban and Cormac O' Driscoll levelled up the game, as the final whistle blew. This was a good effort from the team and hopefully they can use this game as a springboard for next Saturday, where they play Ballyduff in Dunhill at 6:15pm. No doubt this will be a tough test for the team, as Ballyduff who came down from Senior status last year will be anxious to make a speedy return to the senior level. Please come along and support the lads.
