UNDER 21 FOOTBALL: Our under 21 Footballers bowed out of the semi final stage on Saturday afternoon in Fenor by St Saviours after extra time on a scoreline of 2-11 to 2-10. This was a game that easily could have went the Villagers way, but it wasnt to be. Saviours were favourites going into this game based on their demoliation of Tramore the previous weekend, but Ferrybank fought right to the end and another minute or two, could have got some thing out of the game. It was pretty even first half, with St Saviours edging the opening half on a scoreline of 2-4 to 1-4, with Eric Corcoran getting the goal, with points coming from Greg Murphy, Mark Russell, and Luke Flynn. In the secong half, Ferrybank pressed hard, and deservly got a second goal through Mark Russell, with Greg and Cormac O' Driscoll raising the white flag with points, and the game was level at the end of sixty minutes on 2-7 each. In extra time it was Saviours who made the better start which proved crucial, out scoring Ferrybank by -4pts to -3pts, giving them overall victory 0n a scoreline 0f 2-11 to 2-10. This was a good game of Football, in which Ferrybank gave it their all, but it wasnt to be in the end. Thanks to the selectors Shiner, Marty, Paul, Philly, for their time with the squad, to all the supporters who came along to cheer on the team. We wish St Saviours the best of luck in the final.
