TEAM 100:
With the playing season back up and running, many people will have seen the progression of the new clubhouse development. This is the biggest capital development project in the history of Ferrybank GAA club. With the recent upsurge in the underage section, this development will benefit these juvenile members and indeed the wider community far into the future.
This project will deliver a new building, consisting of modern dressing rooms, and a community orientated multipurpose rooms for all.
Team 100 has delivered numerous projects for Ferrybank GAA club in the past, including our hurling alley, running track, ball stoppers, pitch drainage, car park tarmacking, and the initial enabling works for this new project. We would ask everyone associated with the club; parents, supporters and players to join Team 100, and contribute to the continued development of the club and community.
Joining Team 100 involves paying a €25 per month standing-order (€6.25 per week) to the club, which covers your full-membership for the year. This works out as the price of a few cups of coffee/tea a week.
Please talk to any member, mentor, trainer or e-mail ferrybankgaa@gmail.com for an application form to join Team 100.
UNDER 15 FOOTBALL:
Congratulations to the combined Ferrybank/St. Saviour’s U15 footballers who won the Division 3 County Football final, beating St. Mary’s last Tuesday in Carriganore on a scoreline of 7-07 to 2-08.
Going into this game, St. Mary’s had recorded a big win over the team in the league stages but the lads turned the tables around with an excellent display. St Mary’s started the brighter, and began to test the defence with plenty of moving and passing, and quickly had two points on the board. However a good passage of Ferrybank/St. Saviours play saw Evan Mulally go straight through the St. Marys’ defence and score a good goal. Senan Woods-Wyse added a point, and this instilled confidence in the team.
St. Mary’s kept probing away, and a fine low save from Adam Jacob in the goal prevented a certain green flag for St. Mary’s. The team hit a right purple patch with two goals in as many minutes through Finn Carter, and straight from the kickout possession was gathered by Shane Moran, he then passed to Shane Roberts who quickly saw Jamie Swift unmarked, and he blasted the ball to the net. Another point from Evan extended the lead, and goal number four arrived through the busy Sam Roberts. St Marys tagged over three points, but the defence wasn’t giving away any goal chances, while taking every opportunity they got, and points from Senan (2) and Finn ensured a 4-05 to 0-06 lead at the break.
Again, like the opening half, St. Mary’s enjoyed a lot of possession which yielded the opening two points, but Ferrybank/St. Saviour’s caused a lot of problems going forward. A quick attack saw Jamie Swift receive the ball, round the goalie, and put the ball into the net for goal number five. Like the opening half, another quick goal arrived when Sam's high kick went over the goalie’s head and into the top corner. Credit to St. Mary’s, as they kept battling away and were rewarded with two late goals, but with time almost up, Sam got his third of the night, and goal number seven to record a great win for the team.
Joint Captains Senan Woods-Wyse and Evan Mulally collected the cup on behalf of the team, and a special word of thanks must go to the coaches Derek, Brian, Kieran, John, Stephen, Áine and Dayne for preparing the team for the competition.

INTERMEDIATE CAMOGIE:
Our Intermediate Camogie side were defeated in the league semi-final last Saturday by a good Clonea side.
Despite an early score from Niamh Denn, Clonea got on top in the opening half, and quickly replied with three unanswered points. A point from Niamh Ahearne reduced the gap, but, again, Clonea were sharper going forward and hit 1-05 without reply, with the goal coming towards half time, where a shot from outside the area went all the way to the net.
Ferrybank improved in the second half, and points from Niamh Ahearne kept them in the hunt, while restricting Clonea just to two points. The girls needed a goal to get them right back into the game, but chances were slim, as Clonea’s defence gave them very few chances. Just before the end of the game, Clonea added a second goal to seal the win on a scoreline of 2-13 to 0-07.
The girls gave it everything in the second half, but now have to turn their attention to the championship.
