ABP sponsored Ferrybank GAA Weekly Notes

ANNUAL BENEFIT NIGHT:

Last Saturday the club held its annual benefit night in Kilcohan Park. A large number from the village came out and enjoyed a great night, with plenty of thrills and spills on the track, and one or two going home with an extra couple of euros in their pocket.

The main prize on the night was a weekend away in the 4-star Castlerosse Hotel in Killarney, which was once again kindly sponsored by Sean Power and his staff in Harvey travel Gladstone St., and well done to Liz Lawless who was the winner. Other prize winners included Sunday lunch for two: Yvonne Murphy, meat voucher: Eddie O' Sullivan, Newbridge set: Caroline Phelan, fuel voucher: Leah Power, framed picture: Gerry Phelan, and bottle of wine: Ned Carroll.

The club would like to thank everyone who sponsored a race, placed adverts in our programme, purchased dog nominations, and bought tickets for the event. We would ask everyone to support our sponsors throughout the year.

Thanks also to Alan Duggan of Duggan Coaches who supplied the bus transfers to and from the track, Colin Molloy Butchers, Coffee by King, Bloom Cafe, Mandarin Palace and Restaurant for selling tickets. To Brian Godfrey and his staff at Waterford Greyhound track, a sincere thanks for all their help.

Also on the night, our annual Player of The Year awards took place at the Mandarin Bar & Restaurant, with MJ Sutton getting Intermediate Hurler of the Year, Junior Hurler of the Year went to Maciez Tomczuk, and Ryan Tierney won the Junior Footballer of the Year award. With Intermediate Camogie, there were joint winners in Áine Prendergast and Aoife Kenny. Congratulations to all concerned.

- Clothes

- Curtains

- Paired Shoes

- Belts

…you can drop them down to the club grounds on Saturday and Sunday morning from 10 am to 12 noon. Once again, we appeal to the public NOT TO SEND DOWN ANY PILLOWS OR DUVETS PLEASE.

TEAM 100:

With sporting activities resuming the club grounds, many people will have seen the progression of the new clubhouse development. This is the biggest capital development project in the history of Ferrybank GAA club. With the recent upsurge in the underage section, this development will benefit these juvenile members and indeed the wider community far into the future.

This project will deliver a new building, consisting of modern dressing rooms, and a community orientated multipurpose rooms for all.

Team 100 has delivered numerous projects for Ferrybank GAA club in the past, including our hurling alley, running track, ball stoppers, pitch drainage, car park tarmacking, and the initial enabling works for this new project. We would ask everyone associated with the club; parents, supporters and players to join Team 100, and contribute to the continued development of the club and community.

Joining Team 100 involves paying a €25 per month standing-order (€6.25 per week) to the club, which covers your full-membership for the year. This works out as the price of a few cups of coffee/tea a week.

Please talk to any member, mentor, trainer or e-mail ferrybankgaa@gmail.com for more details on how to join Team 100.
