ABP sponsored Ferrybank GAA Weekly Notes

A.G.M.:

The club’s annual general meeting will take place on Monday, February 13th in the Ferrybank Boys’ National School at 7:30pm. This is a vital meeting, and we would ask all members to come along and have your say on the future of the club.

As we all know getting volunteers involved is no easy task, and if you know any person who would like to help out, no matter how big or small they can contribute, they would be most welcome to attend on the night.

BENEFIT NIGHT:

Our annual benefit night will take place on Saturday, March 4th at 7:50pm in Kilcohan Park. Tickets cost €10, and are currently available from Coffee By King (GAA Grounds), Colin Molloy Butchers, and also from Declan Howard 087 939 3818. We would ask everyone to purchase their tickets from the club, as the club benefits directly with the sale of each ticket.

Again, the Club will run the popular dog nomination, where you can pick a dog for €10, and if it’s successful on the night, you will win €30. Nominations can be purchased from Robbie Carew 085 207 4288. The main prize on the night is once again, kindly sponsored by Sean Power, Harvey Travel, which includes a weekend away in the four star Castlerosse Hotel Killarney. This is the club’s big fundraiser for the year, and we hope everyone can turn up and support the event. A courtesy bus will provide transfers to/from Kilcohan Park.

CAMOGIE:

The Under 6-8 Camogie group got the pre-season training underway last Saturday morning, which saw another excellent turnout, and the girls were eager to get back to work learning the skills of our national game.

A busy year awaits, with plenty of games lined up throughout the season, and calling all parents out there, if you want to bring down your child, please do so, where hurleys and helmets are provided.

Training takes place on Saturday mornings from 11am to 12, & further information, please contact Damien Walsh 089 227 5147.

UNDER 10 & 12 CAMOGIE:

Training for the U10 and U12 Camogie resumes next Saturday at 10am, and Thursdays at 6:30pm for Under 12s only.

New members are most welcome to attend, and for further information and details please contact Karen 087 669 1523. Once more, if there are any parents who would like to give a dig out, no matter how big/small you can contribute, please talk to the coaches on the day.

SOCIAL HURLING:

Waterford Sports Partnership has partnered up with Waterford GAA to offer men aged over 35 years old, the chance to be physically active in 2023, by playing non-contact hurling which takes place on Monday February 13th in Butlerstown GAA grounds.
