ABP sponsored Ferrybank GAA Weekly Notes

UNDER 13 HURLING:

The U13 hurlers defeated Cappoquin last night on a scoreline of 3-08 to 1-07. On Monday next, June 14th, the team will host Kilrossanty at 7pm.

UNDER 15 HURLING:

Our U15 hurlers begin their Championship campaign this coming Wednesday, June 9th, with a home game against Clonea at 7pm. Let’s hope the team can get off to a winning start.

UNDER 12 HURLING:

The U12 hurlers are out on Saturday June 12th with a home game against Clan Na Gael at 4:30pm.

COUNTY DUTY:

Hard luck to Mark O' Brien and the Waterford Senior hurling team that were defeated by Galway in Salthill last Sunday afternoon. Hopefully, the side can get back to winning ways next Sunday when Tipperary come to Walsh Park in the final game of the National League.

DÉISE DRAW:

The 2021 Déise Draw will commence in July and will run until December, with six draws taking place. Each draw will cost €15, and once again, similar to last year, there will be twenty cash prizes up for grabs, with the top prize €10,000.

Again, we would appeal to everyone associated with the club to get involved and purchase a Déise Draw ticket for the year ahead, as 70% of the ticket sales are retained by the club, and this money goes towards the day-to-day running of the club.

LEAVING CERT:

Ferrybank GAA club would like to wish all those who are sitting their Leaving Cert exams over the next couple of weeks the very best of luck.

ANGELA BURNS MEMORIAL VIRTUAL RUN/WALK:

The 2021 Angela Burns Memorial Virtual Run/Walk took place over the Bank Holiday weekend with plenty of people participating all over the county and worldwide and sending in their pictures.

It not too late to get involved, and you can run, walk, cycle any distance of your choice. We will have a full report in next week’s notes.

WELL!KIDS PROGRAMME:

Another excellent turnout for the second week of the Well!Kids initiative last Saturday morning. It was a fun-filled morning with children aged between 4 and 6 taking part in various sports programmes, which has been organised by the Waterford County Board.

It will run for another four weeks, commencing at 10am, and it’s free to attend, and every child is most welcome to come along and enjoy the activities. Again, a huge thanks to all the volunteers and helpers who ensured another morning passed off successfully.

CLOTHING COLLECTION:

The clothing collection is continuing. If you have any of the following items, drop them down to the GAA grounds;

- Clothes

- Paired Shoes

- Belts

Please do NOT send down any DUVETS OR PILLOWS.

Bags can be left at the entrance to the club's grounds on a weeknight, or between 10 am and 11 am on Saturday mornings.
