ABBEY Community College:
Best of luck to the Abbey Community College, which includes
our own Ben Fitzpatrick and Shane Oates, who are in semi-final action this coming Saturday February
1st at 1pm, when they take on Mountrath Community School at James
Stephens GAA grounds on the Kells Road.
On the way to the semis, the Abbey has played Castlecomer Community
School, Wexford CBS, Gorey, while they defeated Colaiste Mhuire Johnstown in a
tough quarter-final.
All support will be greatly appreciated on the day.
COUNTY DUTY:
Well done to Mark O' Brien and Mj Sutton who were part of
the Waterford Senior Hurling panel that recorded a good victory over Cork in their
opening game in this year’s Allianz National Hurling League in Walsh Park last
Sunday afternoon.
MAINTENANCE:
Progress is coming along nicely on the club’s grounds, where
Patsy and his crew are working away at tarmacking the carpark, installing ducting
to enhance the drainage system, and also the main entrance is being concreted. These
projects will also serve for enabling work to additional upcoming projects.
This work has been funded by the Field Fixer contribution
scheme, which has delivered numerous capital projects for the club. Ferrybank GAA
club would like to thank all of those Field Fixers for their continued support.
UNDER 17 FOOTBALL:
U17 Football is set to commence on February 9th,
with St. Saviours, Stradbally and Roanmore providing the opposition in
Ferrybank’s group. All matches will be 13 a-side.
ANGELA BURNS 10K:
The Annual Angela Burns Memorial 10k Run/Walk will take
place on Sunday April 19th at 11am. With a little stretch in the

a bit of running, no matter if you are a beginner or a part-timer, why not come
down to the Ferrybank GAA grounds on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7pm,
where you are ensured of a warm welcome, all levels catered for, with a little
bit of fun along the way.
