ABP sponsored Ferrybank GAA Weekly Notes

UNDER 19 HURLING:
The Under 19 Hurlers played St. Mollerans in their second game in this year’s Eastern Championship. After a close fought match, both sides had to settle for a share of the spoils. Ferrybank were very sluggish at the start of the game, but slowly worked their way back into the match, and created a number of goal scoring chances. However, they weren’t clinical enough to take any of these opportunities, which included a missed penalty just before the half-time break, in which St. Mollerans held an 0-9 to 0-6 lead at the break.
Ferrybank reduced the gap to the minimum with two quick points, but St. Mollerans hit four unanswered points to extend their lead, and looked like they would pull away, but were hit with a blow, when one of their players received a red card. This gave Ferrybank hope, and reduced the gap to three. Entering the closing minutes, John Collins scored a fine goal to level it up. Both sides had chances to win it at the death, but the final whistle sounded with the score-line Ferrybank 1-12 to St. Mollerans 0-15.
This valuable point puts Ferrybank on three points after two games, and their final game is scheduled to take place next Sunday November 17th, away to Erin’s Own at 11:30am.
