ABP sponsored Ferrybank GAA Weekly Notes


UNDER 9 HURLING:
Our U9 hurlers had a hard fought victory over Ballyduff Lower on Saturday last in their latest League game. The lads as ever put in a huge effort, scoring some fine efforts. That’s four wins in a row for this very determined squad. Well done to all! Next up is Roanmore U10 next Saturday June 23rd at 11:30am.

UNDER 11 HURLING:
Our Under 11 hurlers recorded win number six on the spin, and maintained their unbeaten record with another impressive display over Piltown last Friday night, winning on a score-line of 7-11 to 1-03. The team put in a great shift from start to finish, and were rewarded in scoring some fine efforts throughout the game.

UNDER 12 HURLING:
The Under 12 hurlers are back in City League action this coming Thursday night, June 21st with a home game against Ballygunner (Black) at 6:30pm.

UNDER 13 HURLING:
Our Under 13 hurlers began their Championship campaign with an excellent win over Roanmore last Monday night, winning on a score-line of 4-11 to 1-03. A good display from the team throughout the field, which resulted in some great goals and points during the sixty minutes. Next up for the team is Monday July 9th, away to Sacred Heart at 7pm.

UNDER 14 HURLING:
Our Under 14 hurlers begin their Championship quest this coming Monday night June 18th with an away trip to play Ardmore at 7pm in the Waterford GAA Supporters Club Dublin Branch sponsored competition. Your support will be appreciated on the night.

JUNIOR HURLING:
Our Junior hurlers start their Championship campaign this coming Thursday night June 21st at 7:30pm where they play away to St. Pauls in the Gerry Kennedy Crash Repairs sponsored competition. Let’s hope the team can make a winning start in this year’s competition.

INTERMEDIATE HURLING:
The Intermediate Hurlers play their second game in the Gerry Kennedy Crash Repairs sponsored competition with Butlerstown providing the opposition this coming Saturday June 23rd. At this moment in time, no time or venue has been confirmed, so keep an eye on the social media page. The team travelled to Bushy Park last Thursday night to play Brickey Rangers in the All-County League, and were defeated by a stronger home team.

JOHN COLLINS TOURNAMENT:
This coming Tuesday night at 6pm will see the annual John Collins memorial tournament take place in the GAA field. There will be a Junior and Senior finals taking place on the night, consisting of players from the Boys’ National School. Why not come along and see the future stars in action!

COUNTY DUTY:
It was a busy week for some of our players who were on duty for Waterford at the weekend. Well done to Ryan Tierney who was part of the Waterford Minor team that played Cork in Thurles, also Mark O' Brien who as part of the Waterford Senior hurling team, and to Iona Heffernan and Niamh Ahearne that represented the Waterford Camogie side that played Galway last Saturday evening.
