ABP sponsored Ferrybank GAA Weekly Notes

Our Intermediate hurlers made the trip to play St. Molleran’s in the Intermediate hurling league last Sunday morning, and came away with a 1-21 to 0-09 win. Despite being short a few players, Ferrybank hit the ground running putting over some nice scores. The team missed a couple of goal chances early on; however, they finally scored one midway through the opening half, with Robbie Carew raising a green flag from a close range finish. Points from Mark O' Brien, John Ahern, Luke Flynn and Oisín MacCathmhaoil gave Ferrybank a healthy half-time lead.
In the second-half, Ferrybank continued to keep the score board ticking over with fine efforts from Sam Lawless, Shane O’ Sullivan and Mark O’ Brien. Even though the selectors made a number of changes, Ferrybank ran out worthy winners. The management would have been pleased with this performance, especially some of the younger players, who acquitted themselves quite well.
Ferrybank’s opening game in the Gerry Kennedy Crash Repairs sponsored competition is set for Saturday April 7th at 2pm in Walsh Park against St. Saviour’s.

With the playing season shortly upon us, it’s that time of the year again with the membership now due for both Adults and Juveniles. We would ask all players to pay their membership as soon as possible. Adults €70, Student/Unwaged/Associated member €30. For the Juvenile section, its €30 for the first child and €10 for each additional child.

The Under 16 Football match scheduled to take place last Sunday morning away to St. Oliver’s was postponed due to a bereavement in the St. Oliver’s club.

This coming Wednesday night March 28th our Minor Footballers make the trip to play St Saviours at 6:15pm. Your support will be appreciated on the day.

If anybody in the club has any ABP Jerseys that they have outgrown, could they please donate them back to the club.

The Angela Burns Memorial 10K Fun Run / Walk will take place on Sunday 22nd April at 11am from the Ferrybank GAA grounds. Entries are now being taken on . Its €15 for runners (chipped) and €10 for the walkers.
