Ferrybank GAA - Weekly Notes

Coaching for the Under 5 & Under 6s recommences this coming Saturday February 18th at 10am in the club's hurling alley. Hurleys and helmets are supplied, and all are most welcome to attend.

Our Under 7 & Under 8 hurlers are back in action next Saturday 18th February where they compete in the Ballygunner blitz. They’ll play three matches in the Ballygunner indoor hall. Their first game will be at 11:50am against De La Salle Declan Gold, followed by a game against Sacred Heart at 12, and their last game will be against Passage at 12:10. Each game lasts for 8 minutes, so it’s vital that each game starts on time to ensure you play the full 8 minutes. Best of luck to all.

Our Under 16 Footballers travelled to Cleaboy on Sunday morning to take on De la Salle on a blustery cold morning. There was little to choose between the sides in the opening half, but a crucial De La Salle goal just before the break gave the home side a 1-02 to 0-04.
A second quick goal just after the break finished off Ferrybank, but the lads showed great heart and spirit and kept battling all the way to the end. However, De La Salle ran out worthy winners.
Next up for the lads is a home game against Clann Na Gael on Sunday 19th February at 11am.

The presentation night for last year's U13 Eastern Football Champions and the Under 15 Hurling & County Football Champions will be held on Saturday 25th February at 6pm in the Parish Hall, where refreshments will be served.  Also on the night, registration for the coming season will take place.
The Juvenile registration fees are as follows €20 for the first child, €10 for the second/third child. We would encourage all parents to come along on the night and register your child for the coming playing season.

The 3rd annual Angela Burns memorial 10k Run/Walk, kindly sponsored by Harvey travel Gladstone St., takes place on Sunday April 23rd at 11am from the Ferrybank GAA grounds at 11am. Entry fee is €15 for Runners (chipped) and €10 for Walkers. Entries now been taken on, and we would encourage everyone in the club to come along and support this great day out.

With the playing season shortly upon us, membership for the coming year is Adults €70, Students/Unwaged €30. We would encourage all players to pay their membership ASAP.

The 2017 Déise draw will be a new formula with six draws taken place at €15 per month. The first prize will increase from €10,000 to €12,500, 2nd prize increases from €2,000 to €3,000, 3rd/4th prize will be €1,000, and so on all the way down to 20 cash prizes.
