Many thanks to all who supported the benefit night in Flynn's Bar last Friday night, and to all who purchased tickets.
Our Junior Footballers were edged out by Ballyduff Lower by the minimum margin in their latest game in the John J Murphy Eastern Football Championship in Ferrybank last Friday night. Ballyduff made the brighter start with two points, but the lads levelled up with points from Sam Lawless and Oisín MacCathmhaoil, but Ballyduff took control and finished the first half stronger with three points.
Ferrybank made a quick start in the second-half, with Greg Murphy scoring a goal in the open seconds, and further points from Cormac O' Driscoll (2) and Oisin MacCathmhaoil left Ferrybank three clear entering the last 10 minutes, where Ballyduff took over, and began to get on top, and chiselled away the lead with four unanswered points, yielding a one point win. A good effort from the team, and despite missing a number of players, the lads fought to the end.

Well done to Iona Heffernan and Niamh Ahearne and the Waterford Senior Camogie team that defeated Clare in their latest Championship game played in Walsh Park last Saturday afternoon. What was special about the win was this was the Déise's first win in the Senior Camogie Championship, and let’s hope this is a springboard to more wins. Also, well done to Shiner Ahearne who is a selector with the Camogie team.
Best of luck to Mark O' Brien and the Waterford Under 21 hurlers that will play Clare in the Munster semi-final this coming Wednesday night in Walsh Park at 7pm.
