JUNIOR FOOTBALL:
Our Junior Footballers were edged out by Ballyduff Lower by the minimum margin in their latest game in the John J Murphy Eastern Football Championship in Ferrybank last Friday night. Ballyduff made the brighter start with two points, but the lads levelled up with points from Sam Lawless and Oisín MacCathmhaoil, but Ballyduff took control and finished the first half stronger with three points.
Ferrybank made a quick start in the second-half, with Greg Murphy scoring a goal in the open seconds, and further points from Cormac O' Driscoll (2) and Oisin MacCathmhaoil left Ferrybank three clear entering the last 10 minutes, where Ballyduff took over, and began to get on top, and chiselled away the lead with four unanswered points, yielding a one point win. A good effort from the team, and despite missing a number of players, the lads fought to the end.
