INTERMEDIATE HURLING:
Our Intermediate hurlers recorded a good win over a strong Erin’s Own side in the latest game of the Gerry Kennedy Crash Repairs sponsored competition in Walsh Park last Friday evening. Erin’s Own made a quick start, as Johno Brown on goal had to make a smart save in the opening minutes to prevent a goal. From them on, points were exchanged with Mark O' Brien leading the way, and John Ahern also pointing. Just before half-time a Ferrybank side-line ball was touched to the net by Robbie Carew to leave Ferrybank 1-07 to 0-08 lead at the break.
Good early points from Robbie and Mark kept Ferrybank ahead, and 10 minutes into the second-half, great work from Sam Lawless along the by-line, passing it to Robbie who batted the ball to the net to extend the lead to 6 points. From then on, Ferrybank matched Erin’s Own with a super score from Andrew Heffernan, and the lads battled hard, repelling Erin’s Own attack.
Entering the final five minutes, Erin’s Own goaled from a close in free, but two quick points from Mark extended the lead, before Erin’s Own scored a second goal to set up a nervy end, but a close range free from Mark ensured a deserved win for the team. A great display from the team as everyone played their part.
PANEL: Johno Brown, Nicky Ryan, Damien Ahern, Seamus Burtchaell, Andrew Heffernan (0-01), MJ Sutton, Graham Coady, Shane O’ Sullivan, David Atkins, John Ahern (0-01), Sam Lawless, Mark O' Brien (0-14), Robbie Carew (2-1), Oisín MacCathmhaoil, Cormac O' Driscoll, Luke Flynn, Paul Martin, Cian MacCathmhaoil, Jeff Lawless.

JUNIOR HURLING:
Our Junior Hurlers had to dig deep to secure a draw in their third game of the Championship against a determined St. Saviours in Ballybeg last Thursday night. The lads found it hard to get going, but St. Saviours didn’t give them much time on the ball and put pressure on Ferrybank throughout the game. Entering the closing stages, and four points down, Paul Hoban scored a goal to give them a lifeline scrambling home from close range, and Philly Blake ensured a point with the levelling score. This draw keeps the side unbeaten in the group, with 5 points from their opening three games.
