Ferrybank GAA - Weekly Notes

UNDER 13 HURLING:
Our Under 13 Hurlers played Sacred Heart in Cleaboy last Friday for a place in the semi-finals of the Eastern Championship. The team started off well when Shane Oates latched onto a pass and slotted the ball into the net. Shane quickly added a second minutes later, when he tapped home from close range, and this was followed by a John Collins point, which gave Ferrybank a healthy half-time lead.
The second-half was a much tighter affair and Sacred Heart got back into the game with a goal and a point in quick succession, but the response was excellent from the team, with Shane Bagge pointing and a third goal from Eddie Daly settled the issue, resulting in Ferrybank running out 4-04 to 1-01 winners.
Next up is a semi-final clash against St. Mollerans this Wednesday night in Ferrybank.
TEAM: Aaron Ahearne, Reece Phelan, Odhran Power, Glen Power, James O' Meara Fortune, Shane Bagge, Eddie Daly, Shane Oates, Ola Akinjewe, John Collins, Ciaran Hondanu, Pawel Tomczuk, Ruaidhri McGarrity, Jordan McEvoy, Jack Keogh Moran.

ALL IRELAND CAMOGIE FINAL:
The very best of luck to Iona Heffernan and the Waterford Intermediate Camoige team who play Kildare next Sunday in the All-Ireland final at Croke Park. The club is running a bus to the game, and if you are interested in going, please contact Debbie Boden on 085-9385162

JUNIOR FOOTBALL:
Our Junior Footballers received a walk over from Bunmahon last Thursday night. This result ensures we top the group with maximum points from their seven games, and now qualify for the semi-finals, to be played towards the end of September.

UNDER 13 CAMOGIE: Our Under 13 Camogie side who have teamed up with Butlerstown for the season, recorded a great win over St. Anne's Tuesday night on a scoreline of 7-07 to 4-01. Well done to all concerned.

CLOTHING COLLECTION:
Due to the success of the last clothing collection, Ferrybank GAA club is embarking on another one. If you have any unwanted textiles and/or mobile phones to recycle, you can drop them into the GAA grounds on Saturday morning between 10am-11am or at any training session. All clothes, paired shoes, belts, handbags, curtains, towels, soft toys etc. will be taken in. We will collect up until mid-October.
