INTERMEDIATE HURLING:
Our Intermediate Hurlers had a good win over Passage in the Whites Bar
of Ballymacaw sponsored Hurling League last Friday night. It wasn’t a great
first-half from the team despite playing with the breeze, and led by 1-06 to
0-06 at the break. However, the lads picked up their game and picked of some
good scores and ran out 4-14 to 2-07 winners.
The lads must turn their attention to this coming Saturday May 9th
at 2:30pm in Walsh Park with a Championship game against Tramore. A stiff test
awaits, so best of luck and your support will be appreciated on the day.
JUNIOR HURLING:
The Juniors also make their Championship debut this coming Saturday May
9th at 6:30pm in Ferrybank against Ballyduff Lower, and the lads
warmed up for this game with a good win over Slieverue last Tuesday night.
Again, your support will be welcomed on the night.
Ferrybank UNDER 11 Hurling
The Ferrybank Under 11 hurling team took part in their third City League
match of 2015 and what a nail-biting finish it was. Ferrybank tore ahead and
secured an early lead with a fine goal but Piltown quickly eradicated our lead
and put our defences under tremendous pressure. At half-time we lead by 2
points but once again our Kilkenny opponents clawed back another goal and a
point towards victory.
Ferrybank woke up and began a relentless campaign of rattling the
Kilkenny defence and eventually we got 2 more points and secured a goal to take
us 3 points clear. Sadly Piltown, from a 65 scored a goal in the dying seconds
of the game. Fantastic game with a draw in the end
Ferrybank 3-03 Piltown 3-03. Well done Ferrybank.
