JUNIOR HURLING: Ferrybanks Junior Hurlers recoreded another good win away to Tramore in the Championship last Thursday night winning on a scoreline of 1-14 to 1-9. This was a comfortable win in the end, and ought to have won by more. An early Alex Power point got Ferrybank of to a good start, and minutes later Alex scored a goal from close range to extend the lead. Ferrybank were well on top in the opening half and points from Kieran Doyle, Jeff Lawless, and two from James Murphy put Ferrybank 1-6 to 0-2 ahead. Ferrybank weathered the storm and points from Jason Hennessey, James Murphy, Kieran Doyle eased Ferrybank ahead. Some goal chances went abegging for Ferrybank, but James Murphy with his fifth point finished of the scoring. Another good win for the Juniors and they are Gauranteed a place in the knockouts. INTERMEDIATE HURLING: Our Intermediate hurlers drew tonight with De La Salle in the Hurling Championship in Walsh Park on a scoreline of 2-11 to 0-17. A late Mark O' Brien point  ensured Ferrybank got something out of the game, but Ferrybank will feel disappointed not coming away with both points having lead for so long, and missed some goal chances during the game. Mark O' Brien opened up the scoring early on, which was cancelled out with a DLS free. Points from Sam Lawless and Mark O' Brien extended the lead. DLS were then awarded a penelty, but Robbie Carew in the goal pulled of a good save. Ferrybank kept created chances and further points from Eoin O' Neill (-2), Mark O' Brien (-2), Philly Blake put Ferrybank in control. DLS struck for a goal, when a longe range free ended up in the Ferrybank square, the ball wasnt cleared, and DLS player scored from close range. Sam Lawless replied with a point to put Ferrybank three points clear, but coming up to half time, DLS got their second goal following a quick break, the ball went up the field and the DLS forward scored from close range. A long range point from Graham Coady on the stroke of half time, ensured Ferrybank lead by 0-10 to 2-3 at the break. DLS got the opening score of the second half, but Mark O' Brien put Ferrybank ahead. Eoin O' Neill slotted over another point, but DLS kept hanging in there with points of their own, and Philly Blake was unlucky to see his shot come back of the post. With conditions getting slippery, DLS came more and more into the game, but Ferrybanks defence held firm, and Mark O' Brien put Ferrybank back into the lead with a pointed free 0-16 to 2-9, DLS rallied with two points to put them into the lead entering the closing minutes. However one last Ferrybank attack saw Eric Corcoran fouled and Mark O' Brien put over the resulting free, as the final whistle sounded. Despite missing a number of players for the game, the lads might feel unlucky not to have got both points, espically conceeding two soft goals, and missing a couple of their own. With one game remaining against St Saviours, Ferrybank are still in a good position to reach the Quarter finals. UNDER 11 HURLING: Our under 11 Hurlers took on Ballyduff Lower last Friday night. On a wet and greasy surface, after a day of rain, Ferrybank got of to a good start when Eddie Daly found the net from a free to open up the scoring. Both sides traded some good scores, with points from Shane Purcell and Eddie Daly. Both sides went hammer and tongs at this stage, and Sean Heffernan goaled from a acute angle, but just before halftime, Ballyduff got a goal of their own to leave the game in the melting pot. The second half started with Ballyduff drawing level with another goal. Ferrybank replied with a point, only for Ballyduff to draw level with a point. But Ferrybank kept plugging away and a score from Eddie Daly and a super point from Shane purcell extended the lead.
