INTERMEDIATE HURLING: Our Intermediate Hurlers contuined their preparation for their championship game against Clonea played Ballinameela in a challenge game last night, and following a good game of hurling, Ferrybank emerged winners on a scoreline of 2-17 to 2-14. Despite missing a number of players through injuries, Ferrybank played well, and took their scores where it mattered. Tommy Carew opened the scoring with a goal, followed by points from Cormac O' Meara, Gary Coady, Cormac Heffernan, but Two goals from Ballinameela put them into the lead. Just before half time Sam Lawless scored a fine goal and Cormac Heffernan pointed to have the home side 2-10 to 2-9 at the break. In the second half, points from Mark Russell, Tommy Carew, Sam Lawless kept Ferrybank ahead, and despite the visitors missing some scores, Ferrybank took theirs,  with points from Cormac Heffernan, and Mark Russell sealing the win. This was a good workout for the team, against a good Ballinameela side who tested the Ferrybank defence time and time again, but the lads held solid, refusing to give away frees, and clearing their lines well.
