UNDER 10 HURLING: Our under 10 hurlers travelled to Limerick last week to take part in the annual Tommy Burchill tournament. In the first two games, the lads took on Cappamore and Ballina, in which they found the going tough. After a couple of stern words by the management, they had wins against Bantry, Sixmilebridge, and the hosts Na Piarsaigh, in which a huge effort was put in, with good performances all round. We would like to thank Na Piarsaigh for a great day, and for the refreshments they provided during the day. John Collins the captain of the team collected the medals on behalf of the team. Panel on the day included Aaron, Reece, James T, James O' M, John, Shane, Kyle, Evan R, Evan J, Jordan, Charlie, Hubert, Jack, Luke, Ola, Eddie, Fortune. Thanks to all the Parents who came along on the day.
DEISE DRAW: Congratulations to Eily Heffernan, Rockenham who won £250 euro's in the May Deise Draw last Friday night in Clashmore. Thanks to all who purchasd tickets for the draw.
CAMOIGE: Congratulations to Iona Heffernan, Aislinn O' Keeffe, Niamh Ahearne who were part of the Waterford Camoige Development squad centre of excellence which opened in Carriganore last Saturday. No doubt a bright future lies ahead for these talented Camoige players.
JUNIOR HURLING: Our Junior Hurlers are scheduled to play Portlaw on Friday 8th June at 7:30pm in Portlaw.
GOLF CLASSIC: Many thanks to all who tok part in the annual Gerry Ryan memorial Golf Classic which took place in Glorious weather last Friday. Congratulations to the Buggy Brothers of Bernard, Ger & John on winning the overall prize defeating Andy Ryan, Eugene O' Brien, Paul Hurley on a countback. Andrew Heffernan, Luke Flynn, Mark O Brien were winners in the Non golfers section. With 58 teams taking part a huge thanks to all who played. Also a special word of thanks to all our Sponsers on the day, helpers,Organising Committee, and to Waterford Golf club for all there help in organising the event. Without any of this, it would have been impossible to run this Golf classic. Once again thanks to all, and roll on 2013.
