Under 13 Hurling Reports.

Ferrybank 2-3 Portlaw 4-2

Our U13’s lost there first game of the City league tournament on Monday 30th August against Portlaw in brilliant sunshine in Ferrybank. Portlaw got off to a great start scoring 2 goals in the opening 5 minutes which ultimately was the difference between the 2 teams in the end. Although we didn’t seem to play to our full potential on the night we had big performances from Alex Grant, Shane Meagher, Jack Wicks and Isaac Power with John Hickey and Jono Brown scoring our goals.

Ferrybank 4-6 De La Salle (B) 3-3

The U13 got back to winning ways against a young De La Salle (B) team last Monday evening 6th September in Ferrybank. David Atkins was immense in full forward scoring 3 goals, Shane Meagher getting the other goal. Joho Brown, David English, Mark Whittle and Paul Carew all played well in their positions keeping De La Salle at bay and getting ball into our forwards.

Ferrybank 3-6 Butlerstown 3-1

U13’s made it through to the semi finals of the Countrystyle City League after a hard fought win over a gallant Buttlerstown in a wet Ferrybank on Friday 10th. This was very much a team effort with all the players playing well. If I had to pick a man of the match it would have to be our goalkeeper David English who made save after save to keep us in the game when needed. Also well done to Paul Carew on his first goal of the current season with Issac Power getting the other 2 goals on the night.
