U14C Camogie Final Result

Ferybank 1.1 Portlaw 3.1

Our girls represented Ferrybank with great determination and played fine camogie last night in the U14C final in Walsh Park. The first half was a very tight affair with no score at half time, our back line displayed great defending led by Lydia Grant, Aishling Heffernan and Aoife Byrne. During the second half the game opened up, our midfield duo of Iona Heffernan and Sally-Ann Power were moving the ball forward and Ferrybank took the first score of the game, a goal thanks to a very accurate shot from Aishling O Keefe, this was followed quickly by a well taken free by Aishling Heffernan. However Portlaw began to fight their way back into the game and with ten minutes to go they finally breached our defence with a quick succession of scores. This was a hard fought game that our girls were unlucky to lose, I would like to thank all mentors (Clare Smith, Amy Boden and Nicky Heffernan) for putting their time into training and to all the parents who there to support the girls last night. Finally to all the girls we will be back!!

On another note its the turn of our U12 squad their championship begins this Thursday at 6.30pm in Ferrybank against St Mollerans. All support welcome for our youngest squad of girls.
