WATERFORD 1-21 CLARE 0-16

Last night we saw the emergence of one of our young stars in the name of Cormac Heffernan. Cormac was positioned as full forward against a very good Clare team, and boy did he perform on the night.
After a few minutes, and living on scraps, the bowld heff got a great pass from a team mate, sprinted into space and without hesitation, struck the ball on the ground as sweet as you ever saw to rattle the onion holder. goallllll.
From then on he battled and battled for the rest of the game, and was either fowled or assisted in 4 other scores.
This was a good performance from a good Waterford team, so well done to all concerned.
Let us not forget the two other ferrybank lads on the panal, Damien Aherne and Sam Lawless.
We wish the entire squad all the best in the future, their manager John Meeny, and his excellent squad all the best also.
A break in Munster championship now for 6 weeks.
Well done Cormac.
Well done Waterford.
