ANGELA BURNS MEMORIAL VIRTUAL RUN/WALK:
The 2021 Angela Burns Memorial will go virtual this year, and it will take place over the upcoming June Bank holiday weekend from Friday 4th to June 7th.
With COVID-19 putting a spanner in the works, many similar events this year have gone virtual, so keeping this tradition tipping away, we are asking all people from inside and outside of the club to get involved and participate in a run, walk, jog, cycle of any route and distance of their choice.
This year, proceeds will go to the local Ferrybank St. Vincent de Paul, who have been badly hit for funds over the last 12 months and we are delighted to contribute to such a worthy cause. People can donate whatever they like, by either registering online at totaltiming.ie, where those who do register will be in with the chance to win some spot prizes, or, by dropping it into the Ferrybank Parish Office c/o Angela S.V.P.
Therefore, we are appealing to the Ferrybank diaspora around the country, and indeed worldwide, to take part by registering for the occasion, and send in their photos to ferrybankgaa@gmail.com. NEW GOALPOSTS:
All going well, this coming week will see the instillation of the new goalposts for the adult field. This will be another welcome addition to our facilities, and this was due to the fantastic success of the Last Man Standing competition in which the proceeds raised went towards the new goalposts. Once again, credit to Tommy Lane and his crew for running the competition.
COUNTY DUTY:
Hard luck to Mark O' Brien and the Waterford Senior hurling team that were defeated in their opening game in the Allianz League against Cork last Sunday afternoon. Hopefully the team can get back to winning ways when they play Westmeath this coming Sunday.
DÉISE DRAW:
The 2021 Déise Draw is scheduled to return in July, and similar to last year, it will run until December with six draws taking place. Once further details comes to hand, they will be posted in due course.
