intermediate hurling

Our Intermediate Hurlers recorded a good win in their opening game of the Whites Bar Ballymacaw sponsored Eastern Hurling League last Saturday night against Erins Own on a scoreline of 4-18 to 2-10 in Poleberry. Despite missing a number of scores in the opening quarter and trailing by 0-05 to 0-02, Ferrybank hit a purple match with good scores from Phil Blake, Mark O' Brien and Eoin O' Neill to draw level. Goals from John Ahern, Luke Flynn and Phil Blake left Ferrybank in control at the break on a scoreline of 3-06 to 0-07.
Ferrybank continued to play some good hurling in the second-half, registering good points through Sam Lawless, Mark O' Brien, John Ahern and Cormac O' Driscoll. Sam Lawless got a deserved goal to make it four for Ferrybank, ensuring they ran out good winners. A solid display from the team, particularly the defence who gave very little away, and setting up a number of attacks for the forwards in which they finished well.
Next up is St. Saviours next Saturday April 26th in Ferrybank at6:30pm. Thanks to all who came along and supported the team.
